Spark the Electric Jester 2 on Xbox One is an admirable effort from an indie gaming standpoint, as creating even a functional 3D platformer is a tough task even for a fully budgeted development studio. The game manages to execute its ideas with much success, and ultimately as flawed as the many moving parts may be, they all come together to create a memorable whole, especially when it is backed by excellent soundtrack presentation.

Speed through several fast paced platforming stages, action packed bosses and fully animated cutscenes. The story picks up right after the first ending of the original game and tells Fark's story. The gameplay is a mix of action and platforming in a clever way, taking elements from many games of both genres, you are able to find powers that change the way you play, enjoy a great freedom of movement, discover many different ways to beat each stage and ways to do it faster. The same composers from the original game are back in full force, delivering a soundtrack that is better than ever. The game feels like a literal translation of the last game in a 3D enviorment. the game mechainches felt a bit odd at first but once you get used to them Fark feels great to control over all and you can even perform some really nice tricks and skips. it very similar to how Sonic plays in the Adventure series and how you can skip portions of levels using the spindash except a bit more smart and expanded upon. the levels are fun and well designed especialy from a Speed Run perspective they have a nice balance of having lots of nice places to explore while not braking your pace and even encourage you to discover your own paths by utulizing Fark's mechaniches. The Story is something I am a bit not sure about, for me its just there and it doesn't really have an affect on the gameplay and I think thats where the strong point of the game may be is being able to focus on enjoying the gameplay. This is a nice fun 3D plat-former the type you don't really see of to much of in today's mirage of releases and I personally recommend it; especially if you're looking for a game in the genre of what one could consider 3D Sonic stylized in play style.
