Interesting and engaging enough if you're looking for some sniping fun. The gore (slo-mo) shots are fun to look at but it gets a bit boring in the later parts of the game.

A bit late to the party as I just picked this game up a few days ago but I must say it is a lot of fun. I bought the Ultimate edition and for only $25 bucks you get a lot of content, a bunch of weapon varieties and mods as well as three new missions. I have completed the main campaign and even though it's your typical kill all the Nazis story it was still a lot of fun. Overall I highly recommend Sniper 3, especially the ultimate edition if you have not tried it out yet. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sniper Elite III is a game that could be great, but isn't quite there.

You will enjoy SEIII if: 1.) You like gore; the X-Ray kill cams are a feature of the Sniper Elite series, and if seeing a bullet blow the face off a Nazi is intriguing to you, you will not be disappointed. I personally enjoy playing on the Sniper Elite difficulty, where realistic physics apply and headshots are not guaranteed on every shot. 2.) You enjoy third person stealth-based shooters; this one isn't outstanding in either stealth or shooting, but it is certainly good enough to enjoy.

If you expect blockbuster level story from your games, this one isn't for you. The story is paper thin (mad scientist Nazi creates super-weapon even Hitler wouldn't be cool with) and the characters are as one-dimensional as they get. The stakes remain fairly low throughout the game.

All that being said, if you take Sniper Elite III for what it is, a stealth-based third-person shooter game in which you can shoot hundreds of Nazis faces/testicles off, it delivers on that. The low review scores you see are because it doesn't really deliver on much beyond that.

I'm new to the series.. but this was a good way to start. Graphics are generally terrible but this game is good fun. There's some good stealth play here, far superior to Thief. This is pretty good. The levels are nice and big and have a nice sandbox to them, there's loads of different ways to tackle each scenario.

I've just done a few missions in co-op too and it's really nice how well the levels are set up for it. With loads of opportunities to over-watch one another. I played a single round of multiplayer and it had a really nice slow pace, which is a

I played a single round of multiplayer and it had a really nice slow pace, which is a nice change from COD and BF which can be very frantic.

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much from this, but picked it up because it was cheap in the sale, I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Solid gameplay with interesting maps to get you going for hours (I've ordered all DLCs they had). The story does not matter that much when it is all about the way you play and it is superb in that department. I have noticed constant screen tearing when when moving the camera too fast, but other than that other small bugs are not game breaking.

Sniper Elite was a complete surprise for me in terms how it really fun and engaging it is. I am looking forward to Sniper 4 (hopefully, it will be much more polished graphically).
Nevertheless, I highly recommend getting this title!

This game is one of my all time favorites. I legit love this game and i cannot believe there are so many negative. This game is so much fun when your play die by die with your mates, the slow motions penetration cam is the most epicest thing ever. The ai are quite stupid but make the game fun. The only problem i have with the game is sometimes it lags epically. Other than that loves thisThis game is one of my all time favorites. I owned SE 2 since release as well as SE 3 for the Xbox 360. Now I have an Xbox One "watching me" and of course I had to get SE 3 for the Xbox One. LOST EVERYTHING. I think I was a Third Degree Sub Commander General ~ my way of thumbing my nose at 505 Games for "reinventing" the US Army enlisted rank structure. I actually am a Vietnam Era US Army Veteran, proud of it, and full-on first person shooter gamer. While trying to work my way back up to E-11 or what ever they have, I've hit some not-so-welcome bumps.

I bought the game, brought it home, got the Xbox One set up good to go, tried to play the game only to find that I hadn't really bought it - yet. Not enough or the right type of ammo or gear available on start-up, during the game, from dispatched enemy soldiers, B U T, I was invited to go to DOWNLOADABLE S and BUY it. WHAT?

Right now I'm stuck in limbo because while buying, again, add-ons for the game then installing them for some reason I cannot figure out why the Gewere 42 I prefer no longer has available to me in any form, in any choice available, ANY SCOPE RETICLES. I now have a Monocular with no lines at all. Its guess work and that ain't fun with a sniper rifle.

There are good points with SE 3 for XB 1. Are they better than the good in SE 3 for the 360. Actually, yes. (I hate having to be objective - I want to be angry). Guess I'll call my game provider and see if any of those teenagers are smarter than me, dumb thought.

    SE 3 for the XB 1 like it - a 9 on the 0 to 10 scale.

A freebie - the XBOX ONE, ooooook, an 8 and and half so far.

Hint: Going to get an Xbox One? Don't name your dog XBOX..... (Do I need to explain?)

Sniper Elite 3 is an average game. The sneaking around, hiding, scouting and tactical aspects are very enjoyable. But it gets repetitive pretty fast, especially when the actual gameplay and the enemies don't really change.

If you live for the glory of the kill, Sniper Elite III is the game for you, just don't expect it to be routinely enjoyable. It can get a bit heavy. [Issue#114, p.72]

Sniper Elite III continues to evolve the series and it’s evident that Rebellion have attempted to open up the franchise, offering more freedom. Unfortunately this comes at the cost of a pure sniping experience – something most will be looking for, given the title.
