With it's own unique artistic style, Slay the spire crosses turn based combat with deck building. Pick from one of three characters, each with their own special game mechanic to utilize against your opponents. Each character starts with 10 cards, and is granted one of three cards after each combat victory. Chose your path as you ascend the Spire, with a new path generated with every play through. You will collect artifacts as you progress, that change the rules, each in their own magical way. A map Seed system is in place so you can also challenge the same path over and over by using the unique set of letters and numbers, or whatever you want to enter. Each path contains Battles, Random Encounnters, Shops and Camps. Battles pit you against random foes, and you do not normally heal afterwards. Random encounters can vary wildly, from combat to epic treasure. Shops sell cards potions and artifacts, potions being one time use, that causes different effects. The game play of Slay the Spire is down right addictive, you can move at your own pace, and beating the elite, and boss encounters are gratifying. Slay the Spire is a unique and challenging, experience that fans of both Card Games, and Turn Based RPGs will enjoy! Expand

I played a lot in a short time. A nice card game, really. But after some hours it is always the same. And you play alone. And when you're done the end is not very satisfying. It says, you have to do it all again. And again. And again.
The characters are good balanced and have some unique abilities. But after some runs you say, it's enough. Maybe with multiplayer I would have more

Good game? Yes. Overpriced? Definately! It looks and feels like it was made to be played on mobile phones. Yet another example of an independent developer thinking that their bite sized offering is worth almost half the price of a triple A blockbuster.

Card-based combat doesn't get much more satisfying than in Slay The Spire and its roguelike campaign is quite a rewarding challenge.
