    While it’s labeled a horror game and does have creepy moments, it seems the fun lies in actually playing detective; browsing through a life that isn’t yours, trying to piece together what could have transpired. I’ve never played this genre, which is new to me but has been around for a few years. I am pleasantly surprised and enthralled with it. If you love psychology, technology, horror, and playing detective, then you will be happy to hear that this snooping adventure has it all. I absolutely loved it.

    In short, Simulacra is a surprising title, totally disturbing from beginning to end, it manages to keep you aware of its plot at all times, with a great script and ambience work. It manages to be one of the most innovative experiences I have tried.

    Despite its issues, Simulacra still kept me hooked for the duration of my playthrough. I’m not sure I’ll want to jump back in any time soon, but I’m glad I snooped on Anna’s phone and found out what happened to her. However, if you have a PC, perhaps play it on there: not only is it easier to navigate than the console release, it’s also less than half the price on Steam.

    Simulacra remains compelling throughout, and the engaging, inventive mystery kept the story buoyant and compelled me to see it through.

    Simulacra excels in premise alone. By the end of the game, I found myself wondering when a better game with this kind of concept will be released. It suffers from an identity crisis. It started out as an enticing murder mystery game, and wound up a tired metaphor.

    SIMULACRA is a Click-Along Horror Intrigue Mystery Game. You're just a normal everyday person, and you've found a Phone on your doorstep.SIMULACRA is a Click-Along Horror Intrigue Mystery Game. You're just a normal everyday person, and you've found a Phone on your doorstep. After figuring out how to unlock the phone you eventually come to find some disturbing things. Now you set out to find the phone's owner and to solve the mysteries around what you find on the phone. Along the way you interact with a host of characters, some helpful, some not so much. You play the entire game on this Cell phone, you're navigation of the phone is how you progress along the path. As you complete certain things and access certain files or folders, you progressively "Sync" videos, allowing you to unlock and view them to further your understanding of the situation. These videos are live acted, adding to the immersion this game creates. Some are just Vlogs, others hold vital information on the phone's owner's whereabouts. The game lends a great sense of urgency, keeping the tone tense, and you slightly unnerved. You feel more like you need to find Anna (The Phones owner) with every call, text, and video. It thickens the air with a few jump scares mixed into the situation. SIMULACRA is a fun and intense investigative Horror story that will keep you enthralled all the way through. Fans of a good mystery horror will love playing through this game.… Expand
