It works for me - a 43 year old who's lead a very sedentary life as an IT professional.

I know it's not a technical marvel of a game - it kind of reminds me of Sesame Kinect that my kids used to play. I picked up the game a year ago, and kept it stowed away. A recent physcial showed I am borderline diabetes, so I decided to dust this off and give it a go. 4 weeks in, with a change

A recent physcial showed I am borderline diabetes, so I decided to dust this off and give it a go. 4 weeks in, with a change of diet and this I'm already down 12lbs. I've slowly gotten better with each passing training session. For a guy who wouldn't do aerobics in the gym, because let's face it, a fat guy doing aerobics is an eye sore.

I've tried other workout programs in the past (Wii Fit for example). This one seems more fun and keeps me focused. It beats the elliptical, which usually has be bored to tears at this point. All in all, I think Shape Up is a great way to get into a daily exercise regimen. It may not be suited for those looking for an extreme workout - but I don't think that's what it's aimed at. My only concern is I see no real new content for it since I bought it a while back. I'm sure eventually it will get boring - but by then maybe I will be ready for a higher level routine.

Strangely enough, "zaxortus", this KINECT ONLY game indeed will not start up unless you have a Kinect sensor plugged in. Who would have thought?

I can confirm that it works absolutely fine. Actually a really unique way to try to get back into shape. Enjoying it.

    Great job guys !
This game is perfect for people like me.
Not into sports at all. Pretty lazy. Must have done 10 push ups my entire life. But I practiced Almost an hour this morning non stop !! I wasn’t even thinking about doing exercice, just enjoying the moment. And the technology is very accurate. First time Kinect is really working ! And the graphics are very nice too. I’m

I’m dying to try it with the girlfriend I’m gonna get after getting in shape ;)
    Thanks Ubisoft, loving it !

This is a very good fitness game. Fun to play and a 15 minute workout every day keeps it attractive. An issue I have the game keeps warning me it has difficulties seeing me although lightning conditions are good.

BRO !!! Do you even Shape up ?!?!?

I love it, first time a fitness game is actually fun and it's due to the graphics and the fact that a bunch weird stuff are happening while you play (never thought i could do a push ups carrying so much stuff on my back). In the end the fun makes it easy to practice for longer than you would actually do if you were exercising listening to the radio

Even my girlfriend loves it and i'm pretty hyped about it because i see it as a way to get her to start playing and enjoying video games a bit more.

I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as i do.

Just downoaded the patch... everything is working fine now. The game is awesome! The challenges are dope and the workouts are LEGIT. The Kinect tracks me and my two year old daughter flawlessly.

But overall, I can't complain too much. This game does what it's supposed to do

I bought XBox One primarily for the kinect and "keep you i form" games. By far the best game of this class. Perfectly tuned to produce results, fun gameplay, lots of activities. Well done.

One of the very few great things that Kinect 2.0 has to offer, Shape Up has become a part of my daily routine due to working at home. It features stand-alone workouts as well as two "work out plans", regardless of whether you decide to organise your exercising personally or use one of the two pre-determined all-around programs, it still tracks your weekly progress, encouraging you to be consistent and providing some basic workout information. I might not like the artistic style of the "game", and I do think that there could be more content (luckily the reasonably priced season's pass doubles the number of things to do), but I cannot deny that it is a great way to get back into shape for those of us who don't like meaningless running, or simply need a break from office work. It also has a lot of achievements for those of you who like this feature, myself included. With Xbox fitness being removed from the store there is really no other alternative, but it is a good option for beginners as well as those looking for a bigger challenge. Recommended! Expand

Its silly approach to fitness is amusing, but there isn't enough here to hold attention for an extended period of time, let alone train you up for a marathon. [Issue#156, p.121]
