Whilst the lengthy and somewhat persistent loading times can irritate, Shadow Fencer Theatre provides a lot of fun for both solo players and fans of local multiplayer alike. The game’s hilariously awkward physics fit well with its distinct presentation, and thanks to its varied content, if indeed lacking overall, repetition is kept firmly at bay. This isn’t going to blow your socks off, but it certainly offers a trip to the theatre you’re unlikely to forget.

I have very much enjoyed the concept, visuals, and idea behind Shadow Fencer Theatre. It’s a decent game to play with mates, especially if you’re looking for a quick bit of fun. If you hate physics-based momentum games then you could be in a bit of trouble though.

The presentation was nice, but it had very limited gameplay. Awkward physics worked very well for duels though they were almost depressing during the mini-games. Watching the clock tick as your character makes no progress because you can’t move deters your desire for more. It’s going to have a niche group of gamers that love it but most people can look elsewhere to have a duel.

Shadow Fencer Theater has a beautiful presentation to it. As soon as the credits begin the funky beats to this game start up. So, I hit storyShadow Fencer Theater has a beautiful presentation to it. As soon as the credits begin the funky beats to this game start up. So, I hit story mode straight away. I can tell from the moment I press the A button this is going to be a slap-stick comedy, and the animation looks quirky intentionally. Its definitely not Street Fighter but it has the same style, as its in the fighting genre as 1v1, but fencing vs your typical fighting game. Every character you play with has a different weapon. You unlock characters as you progress within the game, and they all have their own unique styles. The controls are slippery, there’s no real direction, so you have not much of a clue where your weapon is going, but I’m still playing so I'd say its pretty addictive fun. The music, sound effects and voice overs add to the enjoyment. While it’s not the greatest game I’ve played, it's quite unique and most importantly it provides fun in a well presented design. There is other game modes on offer also, to including a marathon mode, obviously to see how long you can survive. Overall I had fun with this, that’s what gaming is all about so ShuddaHaddaLottaFun definitely made sure to make you have fun with their new release. Check it out if you're looking for something unique and quirky with a quality presentation. Expand
