Sentinels of Freedom on Xbox One has a lot of charm and there are not a huge amount of turn-based tactical games with a superhero theme out in the market. For fans of Sentinels of the Multiverse, it’s lovely to see these beloved characters brought to life. Much like your hero in-game, there’s raw potential here - but a bit of help and some polish is needed to make Sentinels of Freedom really super.

Sentinels of Freedom has plenty of spirit as a turn-based tactical game with a superhero theme. As a fan of Sentinels of the Multiverse ISentinels of Freedom has plenty of spirit as a turn-based tactical game with a superhero theme. As a fan of Sentinels of the Multiverse I appreciate the characters in the game. There’s some potential to be found here, but there are some overall misses within the game along with its positives. The character building is awesome, and the reactions add a realistic level of complexity, chaos, and action. The 3D graphics art is also very satisfying. The character builder offers so many options that it adds to the replay ability of the game. It is a turn-based strategy game that really emphasizes realtime strategy. Because of the reactions, it's like no other game in the genre. The battlefield is always changing and forcing you to adapt your own strategies which brings immersion to the game. Last but not least is the art of the game. The character, environments, and backgrounds just mesh very well overall. The game really captures the Sentinels look and feel. The animations are quite strong as well. I enjoy the story's direction went the way that it did. The comic book stylized cut scenes are awesome and they actually include your character. For me, the story was a throwback to many comic books. It is really well written and immersive in the end and worth picking up for your Xbox One library. Expand
