    I've put about 15 hours into SLRE so far and to be quite honest, it's a really a great rally game. Of course it's not without it's flaws. First and foremost the actual physics engine powering the game is surprisingly robust. It's pretty nuanced as well. You'll definitely need to dedicate some time to getting the feel for it.

    The graphics are serviceable, but nowhere near DiRT Rally    I've put about 15 hours into SLRE so far and to be quite honest, it's a really a great rally game. Of course it's not without it's flaws. First and foremost the actual physics engine powering the game is surprisingly robust. It's pretty nuanced as well. You'll definitely need to dedicate some time to getting the feel for it.

    The graphics are serviceable, but nowhere near DiRT Rally quality. You'll often see a lot of pop-up, textures drawing in and really rough shadows. That said SLRE does have it's own certain charm. The sound effects and music are by far the weakest points of the game. While some vehicles sound throaty and give a satisfying growl, most sound like an angry bee hive and lack any sort of depth. Again what it all boils down to is how it feels and SLRE feels really good when the physics are hitting on all cylinders. Weight transfer plays a huge part in the handling, I'd say maybe even more so than DiRT Rally.

    Milestone really did excellent with the physics engine in SLRE. I keep talking about the physics because for all it gets wrong, it gets the feel of driving right. The AI in the rallycross events is actually pretty decent and will give you a run for your money. Though they often act overly aggressive and often slam into you as if you're not there at all.

    The framerate definitely leaves a lot to be desired and often hits in the sub 25 FPS range. Only a few times did it actually get in the way of driving, but not often. I'd say that there's enough room for SLRE and DiRT Rally to exist in your game library. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and complement each other quite well. If you have a chance to try out SLRE, give it a shot, it's worth your time.    … Expand

    Milestone a perdu la licence WRC et a donc bricolé sa propre licence -pour ainsi dire- en allant filer un peu de blé (ou peut-être beaucoup, qui sait...) à notre grand champion Sébastien Loeb pour sortir un jeu à son effigie.

    D'ailleurs, à ce propos, SL Rally Evo (quel nom à rallonge de merde) contient des vidéos et interviews du célèbre pilote qui laissent songeur... En effet, comment un gars peut-il être aussi vite au volant d'une Citronopipo et parallèlement se révéler aussi bovin dès qu'il ouvre sa boîte à camembert ? deux de tension le gars et encore !...

    Mais bon, ce n'est pas ce qui nous occupe à proprement parler : ce qui nous occupe, c'est l'épouvantable, l'innommable, l'abominable étron que nous a servi Milestone cette fois-ci. D'habitude, Milestone oscille entre le moyen, le médiocre ou le plus ou moins correct (plus moins que plus certes) mais là, le développeur italien a complètement raté la conduite. On a l'impression de manier des hydroglisseurs, pas des caisses de rallye... elles "flottent" quoi qu'il arrive sans remonter la moindre information au conducteur.

    Jamais vu ni conduit un truc d'une telle imprécision, c'est complètement raté qu'on soit amateur d'arcade ou de simulation. Il en découle un comportement totalement incohérent voire grotesque, une sorte de mauvaise blague... pas drôle.

    Techniquement parlant, ce n'est pas la joie non plus... Les sons n'ont pas progressé et peuvent être qualifiés de médiocres et limités en ce qui concerne l'environnement. Graphiquement, on note quelques progrès depuis l'ère PS360 mais ça reste très inégal avec assez souvent des spéciales fort laides... et des bagnoles modélisées avec la serpe d'Assurancetourix. Les temps de chargement sont longs et le framerate est inégal lui aussi...

    Le mode carrière sent le gros farmage des familles mais bon, ça, y a du contenu, rien à dire là-dessus : le nombre de spéciales et de bagnoles est impressionnant. Dommage que ça soit inutilisable en raison d'une jouabilité foirée à mort.    … Expand

    Can't be serious - 7.8 user score. Common, Metacritics... For graphics ~ 70/100, for handling ~10/100, presentation - 70/100. So, it's mediocre or below.

    I think this game feels better then any console rally game out still to this date. Dirt2.0 looks better and sounds better but lacks the physics of weight transfer and lack of traction. Slre feels amazing. Some cars don’t sound the best and the graphics come of be better. And the auto clutch issue is bad. But when it comes to feeling real. It’s close. Closer then dirt or wrc games.I think this game feels better then any console rally game out still to this date.     Great game with a high lerning curve, but if you get used to the sensetivity of the cars you will love it! I has a lot of different cups and cars. The tracks are beautiful but not so varied. Cars selection is great! I can recommend this rally game as an alternative to Dirt

    Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO is a dated rally racing game that has a hard time being fun. It's a shame, too, because a lot of effort was put into recreating its real-world inspired tracks, and developing its incredibly lengthy career mode.

    This situation isn’t helped by an array of dreary technical problems either: scenery is flat and lifeless, dirt and dust effects are disappointing, while the sound effects will leave you wanting. This, combined with a frequently erratic frame-rate, produces a game that desperately needed more time and money for the developers to fully realise its vision. It’s a shame, because Rally Evo boasts such an attractive feature set – and from a studio we know is capable of mastering simulation mechanics – but this year it just couldn’t compete with Codemasters’ stellar return to the scene.
