If you aren't familiar with the series, Samurai Showdown is about precision fighting and landing the right blow, as opposed to winning with overwhelming force. If you aren't familiar with the series, Samurai Showdown is about precision fighting and landing the right blow, as opposed to winning with overwhelming force. Reaching all the way back to 1993 with the original Samurai Showdown and sweeping the series through the five NeoGeo Titles, with a special release, and an unreleased version of the fifth game. Samurai Showdown I, II, III, IV: Amakusa’s Revenge and V, as well as V Special, and as I mentioned the Unreleased V Perfect. Fans of the classic games rejoyce as they are all here in their original format. Not much has been added, keeping the traditional feel. You can now access moves lists from the pause screen, and save replays of fights for later. Both are welcomed additions that don't detract from the way these games once were. Newcomers will have to learn how to play like we did back in the arcades, as there is still no training mode. Playing this game made me wish I had an Arcade Joystick so I could go back to the arcade. The Museum mode can keep you occupied for hours on end. This is a must have for any fan of the franchise, and a great addition for fighting game fans too!… Expand

    I'm a big fan of snk IPs and I finally got to purchase this 75$nz collection it's great thanks snk but I think the price should come down as this collection is afew years old now also it's never been on deals I've waited years for the price to drop but nope hasn't moved since releasev

    All in all this is a solid collection of an excellent series of games. If you haven’t played the games before this is a great way to jump in to all of them at once. The four button setup makes these games relatively welcoming for newcomers, and an in-game move list helps as well (although a full training mode would have been preferable). As a longtime fan of the series I greatly enjoyed the museum content and the ability to play SamSho V: Perfect for the first time. I would say it’s a must buy if you’re an experienced fan of the series and want a chance to explore its history in a unique way.

    Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection has most of what it takes to be a definitive collection of SNK’s legendary fight game series, but just misses the mark in the end. All of the games thankfully play and feel as they should, and there’s a tremendous wealth of quality bonus features included. Unfortunately, its basic approach to online versus means it’ll be harder to find matches among the smaller playerbase. Still, for both older franchise fans, and fighting game players looking to finally dig into the series, this is probably the best Samurai Shodown collection we’ve ever gotten.

    Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection is a prime example of how to create a video game compilation. With oodles of extras and 7 fantastic fighting games in one comprehensive package, this is a must-have for any fan of 2D fighters.
