    As you remove obstacles from the game board and complete the fast-moving levels, you'll earn coins that allow you to purchase and then upgrade boosters and spells. A booster might give you more time to complete a level or grant you special abilities; a spell might collect a fistful of runes or unleash a destructive wave across the game board, saving you precious seconds. With each bump in power, the spells become more and more dazzling until the screen explodes in a stunning display of animated effects.

    Rune Lord on Xbox One may be a short game, but there’s a lot of juice to squeeze from within. The increasingly difficult levels provide a great challenge that’ll have you hooked, however it does become a pain when you have to deal with levels that make you repeat a stage at least three times. With Rune Lord being a reasonable price at the Xbox Store, it’ll still be an excellent addition to your gaming library.

    Rune Lord is a mix between the Bejeweled and Jewel Quest series with a sprinkle of Puzzle Quest on top. I myself am a huge fan of qualityRune Lord is a mix between the Bejeweled and Jewel Quest series with a sprinkle of Puzzle Quest on top. I myself am a huge fan of quality puzzle games. I love the genre and this is a game that stands in the realm of the bigger titles mentioned above. Achievement hunters will be happy to know the game can be completed 1000/1000 in about 4 hours, however for some reason not all the in game achievements ended up as as Xbox achievements which would have been a nice touch in my opinion. That is simply my only complaint about the game otherwise I have truly enjoyed a solid 15 hours playing it so far. There's different difficulty levels to play thru although none are tied to the Xbox achievements. If you are a puzzle match 3+ gems, make combos, tackle occasional challenges outside- like number of runes collected before time runs out etc this is for you. There's also upgrades obtained as you progress and you determine what abilities will aid you at the current time and can remove and put points back in other areas as often as necessary to compliment your skillset and play style.
