    We had a lot of praise for Rocksmith 2014 on previous gen, and it’s transition to new platforms has only improved on that.

    While at its core it delivers the same experience as the past-gen-versions the initial hiccups like the license management for the previously bought DLC make this conversion feel rushed.

    Rocksmith is worth checking out for intermediate guitarists, especially if you’re of a generation that recognises a lot of the artists in the track-listing. It’s also worth a shot if you’re an accomplished player, but for complete new-comers to guitar who have never picked one up before, it might pay to get a few of the very basics down with a tutor (or knowledgeable friend) first.

    If you were hoping for a more powerful version than the last one, keep your money for something else, but if you never played Rocksmith and if you want to improve as guitarist, this Xbox One version is highly recommended.

    Bottom line, if your looking to learn to play guitar and you don't already have it, this is a great game, buy it. You plug your real electric guitar, into your game system, and you really learn to play it. It works for left and right handers, it has mirror view for left handers. It has lead, rhythm, and bass modes for most songs.

    Xbox One forces you to install games to the hard drive, and that's how I solved my 360 lag/crash issues. So that should not be an issue. A stereo/other sound system is probably still recommended if you don't want a cheap electric sound from your Xbox One console, as you practice.

    It is terribly disappointing that Ubisoft won't give a free upgrade for those who already have 2014 on 360. It's odd since most other publishers have done this. This is probably why you haven't seen many reviews. Most who already own this simply won't repurchase it. There is no need, it is the same game. So most will be waiting for the 2015-16 version. If Ubisoft was smart they would give the free upgrade to those who already have it. Which would have most of us buying at least 60 bucks worth of new songs for the newer system. As our Xbox One probably has our better television and sound systems with it.

    I wish they had an "expansion pack" to buy the first rocksmith's mini games for 2014. As I really believe the "Chords of the dead" chord game is much better than 2014's chord games. I still use it, but hate switching disks just for a mini game.

    Again, it's a great game/learning tool, but not worth repurchasing if you already have it on 360. But a must buy if you want to learn guitar and don't have it for Xbox One yet.    … Full Review »

An upgrade option would have been a no brainer if i was running this product. The only reason i still have my 360 under the tv is for rocksmith. An upgrade for say half the price would have been snapped up by many many previous gen rocksmithers.

    You say I am spouting rubbish yet I guess the tears in your eyes blurred my final small paragraph that states i would have given it a solid 8 however i gave them a zero for the fact it was a simple 1080p 60fps money grab that in no way paid any sort of gratitude to people who had already forked out for the game in the last 12 months.

    Your reply to my previous review makes me wholeheartedly believe you work for ubisoft and are trying to soften the blow to which my review laid upon you.

    If you never bought rocksmith and you want to pearn or already play guitar then yes, this is an awesome fun tool. However if you already own this for previous gen then there really is no point in getting it again at full price.

I am sure I will get rude, ridiculous, idiotic replies, but this response isn't for the turds. It's for the person that just bought an xbone or ps4. This product/game provides intelligent, educational, and entertaining guitar development in various so many areas that it's mind-blowing. If this product came out when I was a kid/teen, I would be twice the guitarist that I am today.

    The product looks nicer and plays well on the next gen console. If you do not own a previous copy, then what are you waiting for?

    If you already have a copy on the 360 or ps3, who is forcing you to buy it again? How is offering another choice a bad thing?

    Also, get your facts straight. I've found that Ubisoft really does try to listen to and provide products to their customers based on demand rather than making another buck (cough, EA, cough). If you buy this product (prior to jan 31st), you get (coming out in December) a 12pack of Jimi Hendrix songs! Yes, 12 free new songs by the guitar god himself. A 30 dollar value. You think other companies would do that? Trolls...go back to bashing Ea and Activision. Guitarists...rejoice.    … Full Review »
