If you didn't like Rise of the Tomb Raider, the Baba Yaga DLC isn't going to change your mind, but fans of the base game will find plenty to love here.

It’s an exhilarating finale that’s made even better in the smaller moments that highlight how Lara Croft continues to grow as a character.

One of the best puzzles in the game and a memorable final boss make us forget that this adventure is short. The Baba Yaga DLC has a very good supernatural taste with all the excellence on level design that we enjoyed on the original game.

A short but fun add-on that lacks a proper punch to make it more appealing for those who didn't get into the original game.

Baba Yaga repeats all what we've seen before in Rise of the Tomb Raider, but has a great final boss battle.

It was thoughtfully constructed even if it comes up a bit short in some places (and another bonus tomb would not have been remiss), but should not be missed by those who enjoyed the base game.

How does it manage to be over too soon and still find time to recycle levels? It has to be witchcraft. [Apr 2016, p.92]

I am however interested in more adventure in the world of Lara Croft. Baba Yaga did not disappoint. The dev said it was a 2-3 hour campaign and I easily completed it in just over 3 hours, 100% map completion. Two tricky parts put me over: hunting for required deer, and a super confusing rope puzzle. Beyond that I found the environment to be engaging and the final boss fight was pure fun and not too tough. I played BY on my "Normal" difficulty saved campaign and will replay the entire game from square one on Survivor mode. I just hope Crystal Dynamics will provide more campaign DLC in the near future. The poison effects added a new twist to a mix of puzzles and combat, leading to one of the best Tomb Raider boss fights ever. While the mission is a good length, there is a lack of side quests, just a few documents to collect. Worth it for quality of the experience, not so much for the amount of content. Expand

This was during the final boss fight which is downright fun. But as to be expected the earlier moments felt too normal for the game. I'm talking about the point in which Lara must return to the soviet installation;one of the main hubs, and get some supplies to concoct a little recipe. The act of acquiring the materials wasn't so bad as was the part when a patrol of enemies come out to fight. This reminded me too much of the main game and felt out of place in DLC which is supposed to offer, well, new content. One of the more unique segments early one is when Lara walks through a forest in a hallucinogenic trip. As she briefly walked through her old mansion I recalled exploring the beautiful buildings of Columbia in Bioshock Infinite. But the whole sequence didn't come close to the story-driven immersion of the aforementioned game. And then there's the fact that I was able to easily predict the identity of the witch, which was supposed to be a big reveal. One of my favorite lines is when Nadia;a decent new character, says how Lara probably knew all along and how obvious it was. So there you have it. Lets hope the next DLC is better :) Expand
