    Rex Rocket is a 2D 8bit Side-Scrolling Shooter paying homage to the Classics. Set in the Distant Future you play as either Captain Rexford or Rexanna (Chosen at the beginning of the game) protecting Scientists on the massive spaceship the S.S. Montana. A former War Hero, Rex now escorts the most brilliant minds in the galaxies. Your mission begins on Earth, as you meet the crew and prepareRex Rocket is a 2D 8bit Side-Scrolling Shooter paying homage to the Classics. Set in the Distant Future you play as either Captain Rexford or Rexanna (Chosen at the beginning of the game) protecting Scientists on the massive spaceship the S.S. Montana. A former War Hero, Rex now escorts the most brilliant minds in the galaxies. Your mission begins on Earth, as you meet the crew and prepare for Cryo-Sleep. A bio-engineered race of "oozlings" are to be transported to the other side of the galaxy, and somewhere mid trip, a specimen gets free, and begins to wreak havoc, causing the Ships AI to go insane. Platform and blast your way thru the 100+ areas of the huge ship while saving the crew and defeating the multiple sided threat to your mission. With an incredible feel Rex Rocket challenges you with puzzles, and countless enemies, as you navigate the ship. With a metroidvania style map that you can explore as you see fit (as long as you have the ability to get to other areas) you will find a wide variety of secret areas, and abilities to help you advance. The 8bit maps and characters were all pixel crafted by hand lending the game an incredibly retro look, and the original bitsound music adds the finishing touch.     After spending more than a few hours getting my arse kicked all over the S.S. Montana, I can safely say that Rex Rocket on Xbox One is three things: it’s brilliant, it’s beautiful and it’s brutal.
