I loved turn based tactics titles but this is one you should definitely give a miss. The battles are so slow and lethargic, it feels like you're stuck in mud. This wouldnt be a problem if the animations were so poor, its look like they are missing several frames. The cutscene stills arent so bad but the characters you play with make no sense and are badly written. This really takes you out of the game. The engine also runs poorly with several bugs. Give this a try if you must but rather get it at a bargain bin discount. Expand

Reverie Knights Tactics is a fun but tough turn-based tactical RPG. You must control a small band of heroes as you fight relentless foes, manage your stats, and plan every move. It is tough and requires a methodical mindset.

Reverie Knights Tactics is a decent attempt at a strategy RPG. I found the combat quite similar to the publishers other game Fell Seal but not as complex or interesting. The story had potential but it lacked too much content so you didn’t get the background of the setting or the characters. But for 10 hours it’s still a fun playthrough if you enjoy this style of game but those puzzles will frustrate you.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a great tactics style game that I couldn’t put down, but Reverie Knights Tactics did just that, having me wanting to play ‘just one more battle’. While not the most unique SRPG out there, it’s a solid experience overall and even leaves itself up for a hopeful sequel down the road even if its ending happens abruptly.
