    Unfortunately, I cannot produce a single reason why anyone should pick up Retro Tanks on Xbox One. Its uninteresting gameplay, irritating bugs and headache-inducing visuals make it an absolute mess. Perhaps you and some friends can laugh at each other while playing the game in the background, but it is much more likely that you would all quickly grow bored.

    Retro Tanks: Gameplay is offered up with a old school arcade feel. Concentrating on the main mode you are tasked with progressing through a decent number of different stages, each one layed out differently and providing a significant challenge. This game is by no means easy and will take some getting used to. Controller wise is pretty simple using both sicks and the bumper button to fire, i felt this worked well however I felt aiming was sluggish and with no option to change sensitivity or fire buttons for that matter, I was pretty disappointed. Visually Retro Tanks looks like the old arcade style game it is supposed to, it is nice to see and does give the retro acrade feel they set out to accomplish. Retro Tanks comes with several different graphic settings to adjust as you like however I couldn't disern too much different between the lowest and highest settings to justify more than 3 settings at most. Retro Tanks unfortunately does have other issues visually, during gameplay bright spots on the stage makes some spots difficult to see anything through them and also the small dot you use to aim your fire is the same colour as fire from your tank and enemy tanks and is easily lost during heavy combat moments from the bouncing fire. Overall: I did like Retro Tanks, but the few issues I had with it was enough to stop me getting too engaged in the game. Would be a nice little pick up for somebody who enjoys arcade looking games but don't expect too much in the current state.… Expand
