If you know nothing but Resident Evil 7, then you may well find this as a step back, but if you’re looking for a solid Resident Evil game or simply a horror title in general, then Resident Evil Revelations isn’t a bad way to go – just maybe ignore things when Jessica starts her Chris Redfield daydreaming.

This version received a bump up to 1080p resolution, just as you'd expect from a remastered classic. It also sports an improved frame rate, increased environmental detail, and refined creature movement. That's not to say it looks perfect; some of the textures are noticeably low resolution. But all told, this is the best that Revelations has ever looked, and series fans won't be disappointed.

Resident Evil: Revelations is perfect for fans of the franchise who don’t own a 3DS or didn’t take advantage of the last-gen release. Equally suited are die-hard fans who want the chance to experience the game again (or even again), this time with Trophy and Achievement support. It was a great return to the elements that made Resident Evil great, and helped Capcom to realise how we wanted Resident Evil 7. Get back on that ship.

Resident Evil Revelations on the Xbox One is a solid port of a five-year-old survival horror adventure that’s perfect for those jumping into the franchise for the first time (or those who are looking to triple dip).

Resident Evil Revelations arrives the way that we expected but without surprises. The extras included in this version do not stand out in more ways than having all the content on a disc and a 'face washing'. At the plot level it brings some interesting things about the plot and the moment in which it develops, so this new version is the perfect excuse to play it.

With Resident Evil 7: Biohazard suggesting that the main entry games are again pivoting in a new direction, Capcom's re-rerelease of Revelations may be its way of showing fans that it's also committed to the "classic" Resident Evil formula with this side series. While the visuals have aged considerably in the short timeframe, the classic Resident Evil gameplay and feel is still there, complete with a bonkers B-grade storyline. I’d dare say that most Resident Evil fans have possibly found a way to have played this already, and there is really no incentive to come back for another round.

This Xbox One HD port features 1080p/60 FPS and enhanced lighting effects. Graphically, the game has never looked better. Additionally, allThis Xbox One HD port features 1080p/60 FPS and enhanced lighting effects. Graphically, the game has never looked better. Additionally, all DLC is included. Chronologically, the story is set between RE 5 and 6. Like the classic RE games, it includes a few goofy lines and some dorky characters (i.e. Quint and Keith). However, the plot does resemble an episode of "24" more than it does "Day of the Dead". Overall, I'd rate this with a 7.7 out of 10. Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. This game is amazing, i just don’t give a 10 since the game crashes with more frequency on the Xbox One version.
There is a lot of optional places to explore in only one ship, for example, in the Solarium, one of the thousands of optional places to explore, you can filter the water on any episode before the 7th and if you set the casual or normal difficulty, a P-90 will not appear on it, in the infernal difficulty, it will appear. There is also some dialogues that change according with the order that you play the game, for example, if you do not check the Chris’ dummy room, Parker will check when you collect the key with Rachael and will tell Jill that he found Chris’ dummy, if you check that room, Jill will tell Parker and he will start to search for the key on a different place.
Once you finish the game, you can play the Raid Mode, which is something like a Battle Game from Resident Evil Code: Veronica with some differences, like the stages, the non-infinite ammo, the weapons and the characters abilities.
This game is just AWESOME, it worth every cent!

I hate puzzle games. These types of games must not exist. A futile attempt from the devs to overcomplicate things.
