Personally, a very buggy start to a game I was very excited for. The game collection is great but doesn't offer many additional features other than basic cheats like rewinding time or unlimited life. Most games run great but a few seem to have a hard time, like Jet Force Gemini or Conkers Bad Fur Day. The collection is worth the price but just a buggy start when exploring what all it has to offer, and with a lack of too many features or even a 'remastered' option it leaves a bit to be desired.

SIDE NOTE: Several of the more recent games that were available on the Xbox Arcade (Perfect Dark, Jetpack Reloaded, Banjo-Kazooie, ect) are not played from the disk like the rest of the games but instead are actually installed as separate games that use the backwards compatibility feature.

The only thing this game really doe sis give you all of the Rare games. So.. it kind of does its job. Rare games aren't exactly the best unfortunately.

Make's perfect sense! Game dev's can't seem to make a decent game nowadays (few exceptions) so why not rehash and milk the old one's for all eternity! Perfect dark alone might be worth the 30 bucks if they re-skinned the graphics and adjusted the controls to fit the XOne's game pad.

Still working through all the contents but some of these games aren't as good as you remember or desire; however, the value is incredible and the quality of the good stuff is really good. Takes forever to install but Xbox owners are used to that loading circle icon preventing them from immediate gratification.

I gave it a rating of 5, because I didn't care for these games to begin with and time hasn't helped any. That said, if you are a fan of these classic games then you will love this.

great collection of rare classics, sadly though many older games have horrible controls that cannot be changed making games like jet force gemini and conquers bad fur day difficult to play.

graphics were also not touched for most games so it looks horrible. however, at such a low price for the collection and banjo kazooie and it's sequel being playable (as they ported the 360 remake)

I really wish they would have redone the controls and graphics of the other games though. conquers bad fur day and jet force gemini were some great games but it nearly impossible to get into them with the controls and very dated graphics.

if you are fans for the 360 rare games (kameo, viva pinata, banjo remasters, banjo nuts and bolts) then the game is a must buy. if you wanted to JUST play conquers bad fur day, you might wanna wait for a price drop.

I won't be reviewing the games themselves, but rather the implementation of them as a whole. Remember that you need at least 8GB to download this collection. Once everything's done, you're ready to play. The old XBLA games will reboot in an Xbox 360 emulation. One issue is that there's no way to resize your screen, which means some of the text/games will be cut off. And now, on to my biggest complaint; the menus. They're incredibly slow and unresponsive. As a matter of fact, they're prone to FREEZING. I've had this happen on multiple occasions. It's incredibly frustrating to navigate, and a real shame they're so badly implemented. It makes the overall product/experience feel rushed.

Other gaming collections like Namco Museum or Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on the Xbox 360 do a FAR superior job in bringing those old games back with functional menus/UI and gives an overall smoother experience. Not so with Rare Replay. A bit disappointing, considering we've got stronger hardware to work with on the Xbox One.

What can I say? It's a collection of 30 of the best games Rare has ever put out for $30. You can't go wrong here. I literally have nothing negative to say about this game except that I just don't like a few of the games. Which still leaves 27 or so games that are awesome.

There were only a select few games I ended up enjoying on this collection, the rest were pretty boring.

The N64/Xbox/360 ones are just squeezed in in the assumption that gamers have been living in a cupboard and never encountered games such as the lush Perfect Dark Zero, Banjo-kazooie Nuts and Bolts (with the still-lingering reallllyyyyyyyy sloooowwwww ffrrrrraaaameee raaaattteeee)...and the (so-awful-I-nearly-cried) Grabbed By the Ghoulies...the 8-bit games range from pathetically pointless to God-I wont-go-near this-trash-again...I mean why they were put in this collection in the first place is beyond me, unless people were desperate for a history lesson on games that were mostly unheard of...and speaking of history....there are some long-winded yammerings per game...and some videos to perhaps enjoy...but what would have been better was a more diverse collection of games, that gamers could relate to...where were Goldeneye, WWF Wrestlemania, Marbale Madness, and Donkey Kong Country 1-3, for crying out loud?! Rare Replay features Ultimate and Rare classics from three decades. Simply a big slice of essential videogame history. [Nov 2015]

A great collection of classics that for many players represents the best way to experience what Rare was back in the day. Some great titles of the Nintendo era are missing (for obvious reasons) but what is there is more than enough to have lots and lots of fun. Also, the new challenges are sure to amuse the best players out there.

The collection lacks some important games but still is a treat made with love and thoughtfulness. [10/2015, p.70]
