Random Heroes: Gold Edition is a simple platform shooter with an easy to medium difficulty. It is very easy to pick up and play with simple controls and a basic storyline. There is a nice variety of characters to play as and guns to use, but this game can be completed quite quickly and some of the levels don’t differ too much from each other. The achievements, however, can be collected quite easy for any hunters out there.

Fundamentally, Random Heroes feels like a game built for mobile devices. It is not in any sense a bad game but it does nothing in a market already filled to the brim with great platformers, even at a similar price range.

The world is being invaded by aliens, and scientists are trying to open a portal to send them back to their homeworld. You and a handfull of Random Heroes are tasked with fighting off the alien menace, and saving mankind. The game is packed with 28 unlockable characters each with their own stats. An in game store can be found in your pause menu where you can use the coins you pick up along the way to purchase new weapons. You will battle your way through 108 short levels on your path to the final boss battle. The enemies are varied enough to pose a few challenges along the way, and the stages are littered with the usual platforming hazards like dripping acid, pitfalls, and spiked floors. The game feels drawn out, and unlocking everything starts to feel like a chore. The soundtrack is a bit lack luster and can grate on you at times. The level designs are drab in color, I assume to reflect the dire state of the world. For the games low price its packed full of content. If you love old school Run 'N Gun gameolay this game will keep you grinding away for a good bit of time trying to collect everything. Expand
