The original Q.U.B.E. game was a game that I found really interesting and I was especially impressed with the intricately designed puzzles in the game, so as you can imagine I was really looking forward to Q.U.B.E. 2. Thankfully Q.U.B.E. 2 has all the things present that I enjoyed in the first game and in my opinion the new elements added make this game better than the first instalment. There wasn’t much of a story in the first game, but the story that’s been implemented in Q.U.B.E. 2 is not only intriguing but it also does a good job of not being too overbearing. Obviously the main aspect about this game is its puzzles, and thankfully they’ve been done to perfection. Each puzzle has been cleverly designed and some require a lot of thought to complete, so expect to get stuck every now and then. The difficulty of the puzzles could have been alleviated somewhat with a few more hints here and there, but it isn’t really a massive problem because my frustration levels never seemed to get too high. There are a few different elements that weren’t present in the first game that are present here and without a doubt these new elements improve the game over the original quite considerably, which is great. In terms of content Q.U.B.E. 2 has a decent amount for you to be getting on with and the best thing is that the content doesn’t get boring because the variety that’s in the puzzles keeps things fresh and interesting throughout your playthrough. You will notice however as you progress through the game that you will come across a few technichal issues every now and then, and whilst none of these issues are major problems they can harm the immersion levels ever so slightly. The presentation side of the game has seen a vast improvement over the first game in my opinion. Visually the game looks crisp throughout and it makes traversing and completing the puzzles even more enjoyable. The sound design has also been implemented very well and without a doubt when you combine the sound design and visuals together it definitely adds to the gameplay side of things. At the end of the day if you were a fan of the first game then you will thoroughly enjoy Q.U.B.E. 2 because they’ve took what was good from the first game and improved it even more. You don’t even have to be a fan of the first game to enjoy Q.U.B.E. 2 because even if you only have a slight interest in puzzle games then this game will still tick a lot of boxes for you and I thoroughly recommend that you give it a go. There are some great moments in this game, but at the end the puzzles become a bit tedious.

I think they do get the difficulty right, it's challenging, but not so challenging that you can only solve it with Youtube. The story is okay, but looking at the total, meh. I give this game a 10 for the first 3 hours as it was engaging and mysterious, a 6 for the last hours where the puzzles

Beat this Portal-lite game and overall enjoyed it. Q.U.B.E 2 is a well made puzzle game.

Pros: - All the puzzles were well done - nothing too cheap or so complex you had to bang your head on the wall - Good roll out of different puzzle types as you advanced in the game Cons: - Didn't pay much attention to the story - Does feel like a Portal-lite so relative to Portal didn't feel

Fun puzzle game and good enhancements made from the original. Graphics look great and difficulty curve was spot on.

Q.U.B.E. 2 is an interesting puzzler with tight mechanics that do a great job at challenging gamers, especially later on. It consistently introduces new elements that add a new aspect of strategy, and these elements cohesively build on top of each other, making for some delightfully satisfying and varied levels. It's a shame that the first half of the game is a bit of a slog, but even then this is still a very solid puzzler that any fan of this genre should consider.

Q.U.B.E 2 starts well. Q.U.B.E 2 is pretty. Unfortunately, Q.U.B.E 2 never manages to surprise the player. Here's a good puzzle game that could have achieved so much more.

A weak story saved by innovative puzzle design. [Issue#200, p.81]
