Prehistoric Dude: the bite-sized Prehistoric Dude is the latest release by Ratalaika Games, a publisher known for their budget indies, some of them quite good, some of them pretty forgettable. It’s a small and straightforward metroidvania that can actually be beaten in a single run if you so choose. So basically our game is about finding keys to open boss's lair and beat it. It’s a small and straightforward metroidvania that can actually be beaten in a single run if you so choose. So basically our game is about finding keys to open boss's lair and beat it. Of course you getting new items aand power ups but the game is as simple as it gets. You play as Dude. A caveman that likes his ham. Unfortunately the local dinosaurs like it too and when a giant red T-rex decides to take Dude’s ham its time for some pay back. The story is on the simple side and feels like it would make for a pretty amusing children’s book. It’s cute but nothing particularly special. When you complete the game you'll see how everything is tied up in the end but of course I'm not be telling that here. There isn’t much else to cover though. Prehistoric Dude on Xbox One takes a little over an hour to beat. So the game might be usefull if you have an hour before you go to work and don't know how to spend the time? Expand

It must be said that I didn’t really hate my time playing Prehistoric Dude, but I just didn’t really enjoy it either. There's some challenge to overcome and I always like getting 100 percent achievement completion, but there isn’t anything that sets Prehistoric Dude apart from any other platformer. It’s not a bad game, just exceedingly average.
