Oct 14, 2020Port Royale 4 is a trading simulator with a fairly steep learning curve that rewards meticulous work on your trade routes and production in towns. It’s a fun time once you understand the mechanics and know how to build towns. There’s work to be done, and it’s not perfect, but Port Royale fans will find this an acceptable installment to the series.

Oct 12, 2020I really wasn’t sure what to expect with Port Royale 4 being a newcomer to the series, but came away with an appreciation for the simulation and management aspects of its gameplay. While it may seem a little steep being fully priced the same as a ‘AAA’ game, there’s plenty of value within if you’re a fan of these strategic and management type games. It’s very overwhelming to get the hang of initially with the slew of menus, but once you setup some trade routes and figure out how to best trade, you’ll soon be the new conqueror of the Caribbean.

Sep 25, 2020There’s a lot of layers to Port Royale 4. Its gameplay is impressively deep, and to truly succeed at it, you need to excel at multitasking and strategising. Like any sim game, it’s not something that just anybody is going to enjoy. But if you are a fan of deep simulation games, there’s a lot to love here. Building up a trading empire isn’t easy but when you crack it, it sure feels good.
