Featuring improved graphics and performance, PvZ:BfN is the best looking game in the series. Even though it's sporting a new name, this is definitely the 3rd Garden Warfare fans have been anticipating. The game is similar to GW2, with each team having a base to either side of an open combat area, far larger than ever before, allowing for insane open combat with no consequences. There is a "Story Mode" with different areas, for both Zombies and Plants, with insane boss battles, and endless waves of enemies. Multiplayer is as intense as always with multiple game modes from simple deathmatches to the Insane objective based Turf Takeover, with more being added each week until it's actual full release. Bringing back some of the favorite Undead and Flora, now in 3 distinct classes, we also have 6 new members to the teams, 3 on each side. Joining the Plants are the Night cap, Acorn & Oak, and the fearsome Snapdragon. The Space Cadet, 80's Action Hero, and Electric Slide join the battle on the Zombie side. Multiplayer feels more balanced than ever, making it far more enjoyable to play either side. If you enjoyed Garden Warfare, Battle for Neighborville is the game you've been waiting for! Even those new to the franchise should have fun blasting away at the enemy team in any of the various game modes! Expand

This PvZ game is not as good as its predecessor, however it is fun to play with satisfying rewards, I would wait until the price decreases but otherwise it is definitely a fun game!

    What's good about this game:
    - Great graphics
    - A nice upgrade system as a replacement for variants - Free roam regions (far better than GW2's story mode) - Most of the characters are balanced (excluding Superbrainz and Engi) - Better overall maps - Better overall hub world - Not that many bugs and glitches (for me at least) - Decent music - Most of the characters such as

    - Most of the characters such as Scientist or Sunflower are more fun to play than in GW1 or GW2
    - Better overall writing and characters

    What's bad about this game:
    - Worst PvP in all of PvZ history, with most of the fights turning into long chases that will probably end you dead
    - The free roam regions can get kind of repetitive
    - Ops is really bad here, with only 5 waves instead of 10, no escape wave, no choosing between plants or zombies, no way to choose difficulty and no way to choose gardens
    - If the sticker pack system wasn't bad enough in GW2, now you need to pay 30.000 coins just so you can get one customization or even one phrase
    - Not that many maps in the game right now
    - Horrible character models and nightmare enducing faces
    - Pretty bad rendering if you ask me
    - Bad aiming

This game is just above average. It's your choice really if you buy it or not. Or you could wait until future parch notes where the fix these problems.

The controls and mechanics are extremely different than other games in the series which can make it hard to figure for people who are used to the previous games controls but all and all its still has the same personality and flair which still makes it fun experience

I loved being a lttle pod shooter, hunting down a yeti, fighting a vampire… I loved this campaign.. untili didn’t anymore.. the campaign here feels more like a demo of what could be rather than a full fledged single player campaign, I mean each of the 4 sections main missions can be completed in an hr each.. its really a joke, as after you complete the 5 main quests its really just map cleaning and in game trophy list clearing… but I loved what could be and what should be done in the future.. theres potential with an actual open world dead island rpg like quest system with a dash of some Mario.. there is a great vaiety of character and polish here. So I would love to see the team go all in on something like this, it could be really special… but for what it is now, its repetive boring tower defense stuff once the game exhausts its charm… and then its onto online, capture the flag, team tower defense, hoard mode, and the family friendly version of a call of duty team death match..andfor me personally, the death match is where all of the fun is outside of the first hour of this games campaign,
youre on team plants or zombies, each chratcer has unique abilities and trates to make no 2 matches the same if you don’t want them to be… and you have even gain experience and level these characters up… but again the charm just evaporates… theres so much character depth here in battle for neighborville, theres so much potential.. theres just no great game to go with the grear mechanics and variety… I say scrap this cod wanna be and become a Mario wanna be.. this 3d world of plants vs zombies has so much potential, and right now its being wasted in the bargain bin… battle for neighborville offers about 4 hours of fun, it has everything in it to be amazing.. but its potential just isn’t fully realized and that breaks my heart.
I give Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville
    a 7/10

Throws out the combat and class variant system from GW and GW2 which where the two best things about the PvZ shooter series.
I also heavily dislike the art changes to this game, even though the graphics are super crispy compared too its predecessors.
Would still recommend GW2 over this game and its still my go to PvZ game in 2020, the unnessacry changes to BFN where ultimately why it

To get straight to the point: Do I think it's a bad game? No. Do I think it's a good game? No. Although it has charming aspects such as the character design, the PvE missions, and has fun tools to mess around with such as the Chomper's Grody Goop, the game can also be a massive chore to play sometimes, whether it be because a Chomper decided to burrow right into a crowd of 10 zombies andTo get straight to the point: Do I think it's a bad game? No. Do I think it's a good game? No. Although it has charming aspects such as the character design, the PvE missions, and has fun tools to mess around with such as the Chomper's Grody Goop, the game can also be a massive chore to play sometimes, whether it be because a Chomper decided to burrow right into a crowd of 10 zombies and you were the one it killed, the Kernel Corn husk hop spammed you for the 5th time, or your death just didn't feel right. I want to like the game, I REALLY want to, but it's quite hard honestly. I don't believe it's actually the games fault its such a chore in most cases, it's more of the communities fault for being as annoying as they are, whether it be the GM5 rapid fire zpg spamming soldier using the oh so funny poop emoji upon killing you, or... well. The fact that everyone will spam abilities the instant you so much as look at them. Again, although I believe it to be mostly the fault of the community, the game isn't completely let off the hook. Bugs such as melee hit registration, ghost bullets, etc can become very consistent and annoying when playing. Basically, if you can tolerate a lot, you should be able to... play it. I guess. I hope in the future I can give this a higher rating, but as of now, don't expect much enjoyability out of it, most will be setting themselves up for disappointment. If you truly want to try the game out and believe you won't be annoyed much, then go ahead, see if the games for you, I won't lie and say its the worst game in the world, but do make sure you check up on your own emotions.

Just, make sure if you get angry at it you take a break, ok? You never want to play this game much if it deeply angers you, trust me on that.

I like to call this game "very meh". It lacks game modes and maps and that's one of the main reasons why. The game design is astonishing though, it is truly one of the best game designs I've seen. I play the game from time to time when I got nothing else to do or when a PVP event is going on. Also important to point out that the singleplayer is pretty good and the maps are detailed.

Battle for Neighborville's goofy, cartoonish world makes it a shooter appropriate for younger gamers, but don't dismiss it as a kids' game. The gameplay will please most shooter fans, and it's good to have an option that doesn't take itself too seriously and in which the players are focused on having a fun time. It's a great change of pace for when you want a more laid-back but still fun shooter experience.

Battle for Neighborville delivers exciting competitive and cooperative multiplayer, but an overly complicated economy and inconsistent PvE elements take away from the experience.
