    It's a Persona game alright. You can see the narrative design and game mechanics that would later evolve into the Personas 4 and 5 that we would come to know and love. My goodness, 3 is rough around the edges though.

    The writing is awful. It is C-grade anime drama and hijinks, and the characters are stereotypically bland. I ended up skipping over most of it because of the contrived    It's a Persona game alright. The giant 262 floor main dungeon that makes up the bulk of the combat gameplay is named Tartarus, and is more repetitive slog than fun gameplay.

    Persona 3 has its moments, but I can only recommend it to Persona enthusiasts. The innovative concepts that made this game special aren't as appealing if you're coming from the newer games.

    Be warned, the calendar for social links is tight in P3. I finished P4 and 5 with over a month of leftover free time. I barely made it in time with 4 days left in P3. I strongly recommend using a guide. At 52 hours to complete, the game's length was reasonable for the price.    … Expand

    The game itself considering that it is a port for a portable console is very good. But for a current console it is somewhat disappointing. It has an air that the quality of the art was improved with artificial intelligence and the game breaks a bit because it is not fully optimized for a system more powerful than a PSP, so in somewhat abrupt transitions or when there is desynchronization.The game itself considering that it is a port for a portable console is very good. It would also have been great if they brought the video animations that had their original version.
