Rather short, but captivating shoot-em-up with a clever color-coordinated scoring system.

Pawarumi might not change the face of videogaming or set a new trend, it’s just a damn good shoot ‘em up, just like they made them back in the day. If you’re an avid arcade game fan, make no mistake and add it to your library!

Pawarumi does a lot to satisfy shoot 'em up fans while also offering a gimmick that makes it more exciting than the average shmup.

Pawarumi is a game that take back the spirit of classic shooters like Ikaruga, but made with modern tech. With a futuristic pre columbine design and great gameplay, is a real challenge for all of those who try to beat it.

Pawarumi is one of those original concepts that tries to do something different. The rock, paper, scissors concept is cool, but sometimes confusing. Still, it gives players a great challenge and keeps you on edge at all times.

You are Axo, pilot of the Chukaru ship, on a mission of vengeance. The game plays like most any other game of it's genre, shoot the enemies, dodge the bullets, with a twist. The Trinity mechanic gives you 3 weapons, each mapped to the matching color button on your controller. Green (A) is the Serpent missiles, a twisting column of small missiles that fire straight forward from your ship. Blue (X) gives you the Condor Laser, firing a beam in front of your ship that passes through enemies. Last is Red (B) the Jaguar missiles, they arc forward from the sides of your ship and lock onto enemies in a cone in front of the ship. All of your enemies are imbued with the same spirits (colors) and react differently to each attack. Hitting an enemy with the same color charges your shields, allowing you to take more hits. The opposing color deals double damage, and the adjacent color charges your special. (Y) Activates your special, launching hundreds of homing missiles, and activates a temporary shield. These mechanics are crucial to victory! The soundtrack is incredible and fits the mood of each situation. Pawarumi features three difficulties, each with their own ending. A fast Paced Shoot"Em Up I recommend to almost anyone! Full Review »
