Pangeon on Xbox One feels more like a demo than a finished game. It has some strong points to be sure; nice visuals, great enemy and level design, and perfectly adequate combat. Yet the horribly brief runtime, useless character classes, and complete lack of replayability make it difficult to recommend.

Pangeon had some elements to reel in those that enjoyed retro-style dungeon crawlers. But one gentle tap on the outer coating reveals a very empty centre filled with a couple of bugs. I know bugs can be patched but the other 80% of the game’s content needs to be here as it feels like it got pushed out the doorway before it was ready. It’s a shame as the retro feel is achieved well but with such little content, it is just a shell of a game.

Developed by Mr. Ciastku and published by Ultimate Games, Pangeon is a real nostalgia. However, Pangeon tries to emulate those old first-person, dungeon-crawling it is not a perfect one. There is an evil enemy that can destroy Earth so kill it and save the world but the story of the game is not communicated with the game there is a lack of storytelling. You don't feel like you are doing something in the dungeon you just kill enemies and go deeper in the dungeon. The thing Pangeon did good is the visuals it really feels like the old days. Pangeon only has about 8 levels and each is very short. You can beat the game in twenty minutes without getting challenged. Classes doesn't make much differences since the gameplay remains the same. There is a mode in the game where you face waves of enemies but it loses your interest in a short time. Pangeon looks like a well retro-style dungeon crawler with visuals but the gameplay is not that good to be fair and honest. Expand
