Frantic and action-packed racing whilst destroying the environment and the vehicles you’re up against is always a fun and thrilling affair, but there’s one problem most game’s that offer this entertainment play out the same way, well that is until now. Whilst ONRUSH offers the same insane action as previous game’s in the genre it also has unique mechanics and these unique settings make the game stand out above the rest of the game’s quite considerably. Obviously the most important aspect in a game like this is its racing and driving elements and thankfully I’m pleased to say they’ve done a wonderful job here. Driving is thrilling from start to finish and the controls that have been implemented remain tight and responsive throughout your time with the game, which is great. The gameplay on the whole is an incredible amount of fun and the replaybility is extremely high because no race or event ever plays out the same way. This is a very good thing because in terms of content there is quite a lot for you to sink your teeth into and the best thing is that the content that’s available to you has a huge amount of variety present so things stay fresh and interesting for a very long time. You will see this variety littered throughout a number of aspects in the game and I must admit that I was very impressed with the tracks in the game. Each track has without a doubt had a lot of thought and effort placed into them and to say racing and smashing into stuff on these fantastic tracks was an incredible amount of fun would be a massive understatement. You will however have to deal with some troubling moments along the way at times though because when the action on the screen gets too frantic it is hard to distinguish what’s happening on the screen, but thankfully this doesn’t cause too much frustration. Instead the frustration mainly comes from how long it takes to respawn after being destroyed. It does take quite a while to get back into the action so I hope they release a patch to make these times dwindle quite a bit. In terms of the presentation side of things the game looks and sounds fantastic. Visually the game has a lot of detail included in it and I was especially impressed with the weather effects that have been implemented. The sound design makes all the right sounds and noises and in the end when both the visuals and sound design combine together you end up having a very immersive experience. At the end of the day ONRUSH is a fantastic and fun-fuelled experience. It’s a game that has managed to get all the important aspects done to perfection and if you like game’s of this ilk then you will find it hard to find a better game out there and in the end it gets a massive recommendation from me. 'Oh no this isn't a racing game..' Get over it. Onrush is exhilarating, its is truly a fun and exciting new game that brings a refreshing take on what an arcade racer can be.

Finally found an arcade racer that I can pick up and play after a long day at work. Evolution Studios has truly built a masterpiece for people who enjoy casual gaming. The game has an addictive loop of thumping beats and fast paced arcade action.

It would be fantastic if the team can keep adding content in the future to keep players engaged. New tracks and car classes every month would

This is so much fun, and so exciting to have such innovation in arcade racing. This is made for eSports.

For me, this is a stunning game. Its arcade action is sublime. It's intense fun. However, it is slightly frustrating. The networking, particularly on the ranking tournaments, keeps cutting out. The networking is not stable enough for competition mode, IMO.
Other than that, there is a learning curve to understand the abilities of the car. But if you want fast action, great soundtrack

The ranking mode and the multiplayer online is brill but expect some problems with the network connection, not as stable as it could be.

This is a fun game. It is funny how many dummies base a game on graphics. Wahhh they look like 10 years ago and such. Truth is I dont care if it is atari 2600 graphics if a game is fun its fun. Nothing wrong with repetitive game play as long as its fun. This game is fun. Expand

Rocket League (vibe) + Overwatch (Visuals and presentation) + burnout (gameplay) = ONRUSH.

When this game first came out I had not interest. Free play weekend came and I tried it and I couldn't stop playing it! I was hooked and I dont even get hooked on games anymore. Some things people are saying is true. I dont think its worth $60 o the discount for $35 xbox recently gave I think

Some things people are saying is true. I dont think its worth $60 o the discount for $35 xbox recently gave I think should be the default price. Rocketleague would get bad reviews as well if it was $50+ . That is the only thing they messed up with the game is price. It does have repetitive content. But just like rocket league and burnout no match is the same and something crazy always happens to make you go another round. The game is beautiful which is why the steep price tag. But honestly if Overwatch can do it ONrush should be allowed as well. I hope they keep making updates. This game game can grow if they target the correct crowd and adjust the price.

The reality is that this game is actually brilliant. Super fun and a great rival to something like Rocket League. Both are games that are technically racing games but not at the same time.

The game isn't for everyone and is not exactly realistic, but it's very fun most of the time, although rather repetitive.

Onrush does well to fill that racing void as a non-serious arcade, destruction-derby type of vehicular mayhem experience. However, as enjoyable and heart-pounding as the matches can be, the novelty eventually begins to wear thin and, once that happens, there is little else that can reignite the flame in this racer. The foundations, though, have been laid for a bright and positive future, and who knows, a sequel with additional gameplay mechanics can allow for the series to grow into something bigger. Onrush, as it stands, is a great vehicular-destruction game that focuses less on winning races, and more on wrecking opponents, and that's really all that matters.

Onrush takes full contact racing to another level and it is thrilling at times. The problem for me was that there’s very little actual racing left in Onrush. It was replaced by chaos and I hate racing games in which my triumph or defeat does not depend entirely on my skill. [08/2018, p.83]

A slick, chaotic arcade driving/combat game too easily spoiled by lag. [Aug 2018, p.74]
