Whilst ONRUSH offers the same insane action as previous game’s in the genre it also has unique mechanics and these unique settings make the game stand out above the rest of the game’s quite considerably. Obviously the most important aspect in a game like this is its racing and driving elements and thankfully I’m pleased to say they’ve done a wonderful job here. Driving is thrilling from start to finish and the controls that have been implemented remain tight and responsive throughout your time with the game, which is great. The gameplay on the whole is an incredible amount of fun and the replaybility is extremely high because no race or event ever plays out the same way. This is a very good thing because in terms of content there is quite a lot for you to sink your teeth into and the best thing is that the content that’s available to you has a huge amount of variety present so things stay fresh and interesting for a very long time. You will see this variety littered throughout a number of aspects in the game and I must admit that I was very impressed with the tracks in the game. Each track has without a doubt had a lot of thought and effort placed into them and to say racing and smashing into stuff on these fantastic tracks was an incredible amount of fun would be a massive understatement. You will however have to deal with some troubling moments along the way at times though because when the action on the screen gets too frantic it is hard to distinguish what’s happening on the screen, but thankfully this doesn’t cause too much frustration. Instead the frustration mainly comes from how long it takes to respawn after being destroyed. It does take quite a while to get back into the action so I hope they release a patch to make these times dwindle quite a bit. In terms of the presentation side of things the game looks and sounds fantastic. Visually the game has a lot of detail included in it and I was especially impressed with the weather effects that have been implemented. The sound design makes all the right sounds and noises and in the end when both the visuals and sound design combine together you end up having a very immersive experience. At the end of the day ONRUSH is a fantastic and fun-fuelled experience. It’s a game that has managed to get all the important aspects done to perfection and if you like game’s of this ilk then you will find it hard to find a better game out there and in the end it gets a massive recommendation from me. Don't trust high quality screenshots you can see on the game page. You will never see it in the game. The visuality is 10 years old. Yes there is some kind of fun while playing but really some arcade game doesn't worth the price of AAA game. Also in my case I didn't have sound in racing. What I see is low job investments and a wish to get fast money.

Extremely repetitive after a few hours of play. This is not a racing game...it’s a ramming game but without the fun of other combat racers of the past. The graphics are mediocre...this feels like the Fortnite of racing games and that’s not a good thing at all.

This isn’t every racer for themselves, this game is all about team work.
In onrush you can choose your own character, all with different skins and you race through an 8 hour long campaign with your 8 different vehicles all of which have their own skins as well, really making your arsenal of vehicles feel yours.
There is no customizing or tuning outside of this.. as again this isn’t about racing this is about combat in team based modes.. this game features 12 different tracks that can be played at different times of the day and at different seasons, all of which are decently designed.. nothing really memorable here though
but you go through a 6 v 6 match out of 4 possible match types,
Theres overdrive , which is a score chasing mode, you get points by doing tricks, driving fast, and taking enemies down, and youre able to drive fast with the boost you collect by hitting jumps, doing tricks, take downs and pick ups.. theres countdown mode where your teams are driving through checkpoints trying to keep the timer going, lockdown where you’re trying to stay in a zone with the most amount of team members for 5 seconds to win a round, and my least favorite of the modes switch, where everyone has 4 lives.. but for some reason they decided to let your team stay in after all lives are lost really dragging this match type out longer than it needs to be…
to spice the gameplay up there are again 8 different vehicles all with their own unique balance of offense and defense, some will drop boost for teammates to pick up, others can offer a shield, some will drain boost.. leave a smoke cloud behind while on rush is activated, which Is done by filling a meter by boosting…
thanks to this mix of abilities by the different vehicles types this offers different strategy for different match types…
And you can play these matches in campaign as well as online which match and ranked…
as you play youll earn xp to level up which will give you a box of cosmetic items with different rarities each time… cosmetics can also be earned with cash earned from completing matches and challenges..
all of this looks and sounds great..
But onrush just wasn’t fun to me…
I got no thrill out of just being a cog in the machine team, no matter what mode it was I felt like I was just going through the motions of fill up my boost, get some take downs, while occasionally having to drive through some gates, the strategy is offered but completely unnecessary…
one bad person cant ruin a team which is good.. but one good person cant make a team either..
which makes this competitive play just feel pointless…
Onrush is a great looking game with a great soundtrack
but the experience is so numbing…
I stopped having fun once the tutorial was over and I got to experience the actual game.
crashing is ridiculously easy, respawns take forever.
    its just not fun.
    I give Onrush
    a 5.5/10

For me, this is a stunning game. Its arcade action is sublime. It's intense fun. However, it is slightly frustrating. The networking, particularly on the ranking tournaments, keeps cutting out. The networking is not stable enough for competition mode, IMO.
Other than that, there is a learning curve to understand the abilities of the car. But if you want fast action, great soundtrack

Rocketleague would get bad reviews as well if it was $50+ . That is the only thing they messed up with the game is price. It does have repetitive content. But just like rocket league and burnout no match is the same and something crazy always happens to make you go another round. The game is beautiful which is why the steep price tag. But honestly if Overwatch can do it ONrush should be allowed as well. I hope they keep making updates. This game game can grow if they target the correct crowd and adjust the price.

1st - Style: The style of the game is very hard to bear for people over 14 years. These embarrassing figures, the horrible music, these stupid dances, you could think that this is satire.
2nd - Pacing: Pacing in the game is horrible. The makers absolutely didn't understand why the Crashcam was cool in Burnout. Here I have to watch forever how I crash due to a small stone in 4/5 cases due to mediocre physics. After that I can watch another timer ticking down and hope that I don't get placed unfavourably in a curve during respawn and crash instantly. But the worst thing is this completely irrelevant statistics presentation at the end of a race. For minutes I see idiotic AI riders who have done something supposedly great and therefore present their stupid dance. Click away? No way, go to the toilet, or make a coffee, or make a Power Nap.
3rd - Game Design: A racing game without real races and then there are "races" you don't even have to win. If the task is to make 3 barrel rolls, then it doesn't matter at all whether I or my team pursue the racing goal at all.
4th - AI: Sometimes okay, sometimes the worst racing games have ever seen.
5th - Balancing: Completely broken. Some tasks are impossible to accomplish in a race/tournament, which is why some of these extremely boring races have to be driven several times.
6th - WTF moments: I was just back in a race where you didn't give a damn about the mode/goal. Since I had fulfilled the task, I simply placed the controller next to me to wait until the AI won the race. Good idea? Not really. I was kicked because of inactivity...from a single player match? What were the developers thinking? Of course I was allowed to fulfill all the tasks again, after all I was kicked out of my own game and didn't finish it.

Blind fanboys might say "ItS nOt A rAcInG gAmE". Yeah it might be a racing car combat whatsoever. But the "combat" aspect is even worse than the racing part. This game is neither worse your money nor your time. Even if you got it for free, DON'T waste your time with this digital rubbish.

they developers idea of progression is opening loot boxes that give you stupid shells and outfits who the **** cares about outfits? wouldn´t you rather get upgrades for your car? i mean tuning actual perfomance and not play dress up with your car. and i say car in the sibgular because the cars look different but they all drive the same so theres absutely no point.

The reality is that this game is actually brilliant. Super fun and a great rival to something like Rocket League. Both are games that are technically racing games but not at the same time.

The game isn't for everyone and is not exactly realistic, but it's very fun most of the time, although rather repetitive.

Onrush does well to fill that racing void as a non-serious arcade, destruction-derby type of vehicular mayhem experience. However, as enjoyable and heart-pounding as the matches can be, the novelty eventually begins to wear thin and, once that happens, there is little else that can reignite the flame in this racer. The foundations, though, have been laid for a bright and positive future, and who knows, a sequel with additional gameplay mechanics can allow for the series to grow into something bigger. Onrush, as it stands, is a great vehicular-destruction game that focuses less on winning races, and more on wrecking opponents, and that's really all that matters.

Onrush takes full contact racing to another level and it is thrilling at times. The problem for me was that there’s very little actual racing left in Onrush. It was replaced by chaos and I hate racing games in which my triumph or defeat does not depend entirely on my skill. [08/2018, p.83]
