One Piece World Seeker looked amazing from the outset, but after playing around 50 hours of this game I can deduce that it is pretty dissapointing.

Graphically World Seeker looks really pretty actually. The semi-realistic terrains look stylish. The character models also look pretty good. The story is also solid. It feels like watching one of the One Piece movies. Gameplay: sadly

Gameplay: sadly though the gameplay is the jankiest part of the experience. For one, Luffy feels tanky in the way he controls. At first this was really annoying to me, but you get used to it after playing a while, but it still does not feel ideal.

If you buy this game you are doing it for the story most likely. There is a lack of post-game content. I would know because after finishing the game I was going for a 100% completion (since it did not seem like it would take too much effort to do). The worst part is that I could never get specific characters to spawn in the world. This halted me from 100% the game because there are acchievments that require you to battle specific boss characters multiple times.

Final thoughts: for One Piece fans this is for you. If you enjoy the movies and for some reason want to play through a story simliar to those then you might enjoy this. If you are not a fan of One Piece then you might find some fun here, but I do not recommend.

Even with One Piece: World Seeker's problems it can be fun to play once you get into the main story missions. The cutscenes are entertaining and the game has good character dialogue. It starts to get more interesting once more characters are introduced. Fans of the One Piece franchise will most likely enjoy the game for what it is much more than I did, but I don't see how you can ignore the gameplay flaws. The game really needs more options for exploration and more to do in its environments.

One Piece: World Seeker is by far the best the series has been in game form. Combat feels good even if it is one note. The world is simply stunning to traverse through and the story and characters really carried me through to the end. I wish it was more fleshed out in terms of variety. One Piece continues to be a series I have an affinity for even without ever having experienced the anime, which means I will most likely be on-board for whatever comes next.

One Piece : World Seeker isn't a great open world. Some gameplay mechanics are too obsolete. The story written by Oda is good but surrounded by a disappointing gameplay. The world is too empty to deeply involve the player.
