A solid Nascar racer, with a good career mode and a good engine even if not comparable to the latest AAA racers. Too bad for its sound design, often annoying and definitely forgettable.

NASCAR HEAT 2 is packed full of content for the fans and to get the most out of it, you really need to be a fan of the motorsport. The visuals are the weakest link and are the only thing to really complain about. Underneath, there is a solid racing title that is good fun especially when racing in the pack surrounded by other cars. Monster Games has done well to capture all of the glamour of the sport whilst keeping it authentic at the same time. For those looking for more diverse disciplines in their racing, other titles will be better suited, but for NASCAR fans it's a great title that pays homage to the sport.

Fans of the sport will surely enjoy seeing their favorite teams and drivers, but there’s not much weight to that novelty here for the rest of us. I went into NASCAR Heat 2 with an open mind, hoping to be won over, and possibly even becoming a fan of the sport; neither of these really happened and I found that unfortunate. At the end of the day, NASCAR fans will find something to like here for sure, but for gamers as a whole, I'm not quite sure that this would fill their need for a racing game nor be an experience that would help them to understand, or even enjoy, what NASCAR may have to offer.

Given the price, the tedious gameplay and the way it hurts my eyes, I can’t in good faith recommend NASCAR Heat 2, unless you enjoyed the previous installment. In which case, this is better. But that’s not saying much.

For modern sport type games, this one takes it back to the roots and created a perfect layout of a game.

The sequel to last year’s Heat Evolution, NASCAR Heat 2 brings about some terrific changes to the formula established in the previous title. The sequel to last year’s Heat Evolution, NASCAR Heat 2 brings about some terrific changes to the formula established in the previous title. The Career Mode has been completely overhauled, and it feels great to work through full seasons in the Trucks, Xfinity, or Cup cars. The progression system is basic, but the mode does its best to emerge you in the world of motor-sports. Twitter feeds and pre-recorded video messages featuring many of the the drivers of the sport are fun, but could be improved with the next title. Online Multiplayer is also revamped, and the servers are quite stable. The Online racing is also greatly improved, and the ability to race in a full 40 car field of other live drivers is amazing. Where the games stalls is in performance. On console, the game can barely run at a solid 30 FPS, which is not great considering many new games are locked at 60. The physics are revamped from Evolution, but the graphics are not changed much here, and the lighting on the cars during specific time settings feels incredibly artificial. The cars look great, though, and the details on each of the hundreds of paint schemes are fantastic, and add to the immersion in Career. NASCAR Heat 2 is a great addition to a series that has a lot of potential for future installments, and provides a steady footing for 704 games to build upon. Expand

This is a big change to the prequel. You can choose from up to 3 series to race in, more tracks and better animation. But what I don't likeThis is a big change to the prequel. You can choose from up to 3 series to race in, more tracks and better animation. But what I don't like about the game is that it has a complex career which I don't understand how to do the career and the games customizer is still as bad as the customizer in NASCAR Heat evolution you can only choose numbers 8,28,36 and 99 and you can't have your own sponsors so I want 704Games to read my review so in NASCAR Heat 3 it will have a better customizer and I prefer the NASCAR '15 customizer but I can't get NASCAR '15 because it is unavailable in PAL format.
