Milestone is finding in MXGP the ideal place to experiment with new features and this year's game demonstrates that they can do it successfully.

All the thrill of Motocross serving to its fans in MXGP 2019, with renovated graphics and more realistic gameplay.

A well-balanced motocross game that will please newcommers and experts as well, thanks to a brand new race-editor, and some small improvements that unfortunately doesn't concern the Career or Online modes.

Should you be into Motocross, want to keep your game up to date with the latest riders and teams and don’t mind a more basic arcade feel to that which has gone before it, then MXGP 2019 is likely a game you’re going to enjoy. If you found MXGP Pro to be the change the series needed however, then you will be disappointed.

Even if you are not a fan of motocross, MXGP 2019 will give you hours of fun, both alone and with friends.

Even if you’re not an ardent follow of the sport, MXGP 2019 still provides a fun, though challenging, racing experience. Great visuals, some fun, responsive handling and great track design more than make up for the difficulty and constant droning of engines.

It’s hard to settle upon an audience for MXGP 2019, especially on Xbox One — MXGP3 will work just fine for casual players, and those looking for a hardcore experience are better serviced with MXGP Pro instead. With the variations in naming conventions in the franchise, I’d recommend Milestone marry the two steams — casual (or more casual) and professional — to present a killer app that could someday carry the same weight as a yearly FIFA or Madden. Otherwise, Milestone will need to go back to the drawing board to truly differenciate the streams like Forza has done with Motorsport and Horizon.

MXGP 2019 isn’t a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. But it is a disappointing one.

MXGP 2019 hasn’t shown enough significant improvements to keep it relevant enough year over year. I still look forward to a new release fromMXGP 2019 hasn’t shown enough significant improvements to keep it relevant enough year over year. I still look forward to a new release from this franchise I just wish that they would do something to make it stand out more and bring new fans to the MXGP series. I think a yearly release doesn’t help matters either because even though there are some successful games that release each year I often feel that in order to become excited about a racing game there should be at least a couple of years in between each new release. The Forza games are the perfect example of that because they always get you revved up and excited because their releases are rarer than other racing games. That being said despite the lack of rarity in regards to the MXGP series I actually found MXGP 2019 to be decent and it was nice to see the few improvements that were present. One improvement can be seen right from the start because without a doubt the visuals look better than ever and this realistic style they’ve used when it comes to the tracks makes racing that little bit more immersive. The other improvements can be seen in terms of the customization options because I’m not exaggerating when I say that you can chop and change everything to your hearts content and being able to do this did make each race feel a little bit more personal. Not really because the physics still feel the same and they’re not as realistic as I would’ve liked. Don’t get me wrong it’s very challenging and it can be rewarding but the bike doesn’t always react in the way you would expect which does bring the glamour down when racing. The career mode also still feels barebones and the lack of depth in this mode means there isn’t really much to achieve making it become boring a lot quicker than it should. As mentioned previously I think the MXGP series needs a rest because everything feels a little stale and in my opinion a rest would breath new life into the franchise. It doesn’t look like they’re going to do that though so fans of MXGP will just have to hope that a few new additions are thrown into the mix. As far as MXGP 2019 goes then it’s just about good enough to warrant a purchase especially to those who really enjoy it. It isn’t a particularly bad game I just found myself struggling to really become excited with the racing that was taking place on my screen because it has been seen far too often with not enough time in between. I think this is the best game on the market graphics are amazing and finally team rides not lame sponsors in career mode I just wish you could have like 3 preset gear for a factory team just gets old looking at same jersey and pants but besides that I love the riding once you master it I’m sick of people saying I’m not a hardcore fan because I like how this game is but don’t get me wrong it has some faults but having the option to ride for a pro team again is amazing and makes me want to play my career more and more game is great just hope they listen to some feedback on the gear presets for factory rides please go out and buy this game don’t let the haters tell you it’s trash once you take the time and get the throttle and brake controls down it’s a great time!!
