This game is sooo good, great roster and love it to death but there is something that is bothering me quite a lot. Although i hate to see this game getting review bombed cause of some of the female kombatant's designs, they are supposed to be fighters, not strippers, they look better than ever before. Love their new looks.

Now onto the bad part, in order to get some of the loot, you need to be *ALWAYS* online which sucks cause it's not certain that our Internet will always be up and running (just like yesterday for me).
I don't really see the point of always having to being online in order to get loot, feels so restricted when playing offline.

Here's hoping we get to unlock and keep stuff offline, i think the Switch users have it the worst.
It could've been a perfect 10 but yesterday was kind've sour for me.

Story mode is absolutly stunning, never seen a fighting game packing a story mode this good.

The new MK is dissapointing. What was previously a good franchise decided this time to go woke and embrace politics. Women cant show any skin but its okay for parents to kill their children and vice versa. Political correctness in games is already stupid but its even worse when it happens in Mortal Kombat that until now was the most anti political correctness franchise of all.

Utterly disgraceful mtx practices. Extremely grindy if you want to unlock even a fraction of unlockables.

Females look like men and nothing like how they used to. They even go to the extent and give other characters that are not in the game their special signature moves probably because of lack of design and creativity. NRS and WB have hit a new low with this game by attacking the consumer and not their staff. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get a lot of returns because the gameplay is not what it once was. They really hit an all time new low. Don’t ask them for classic characters either they will mock you all over Twitter Facebook and Instagram. They seriously need to get their act together. Expand

Instead of scummy practices like forcing you to just buy everything, which would honestly be preferable because at least you can just get what you want, you instead have to buy currency and still go through this grind. It's crazy, and it justifies a 0 score because this is unacceptable, anti-consumer garbage that took the wind out of my sails. I've been a fan of Mortal Kombat since 1996, and here I am saying this has killed all my interest. I was someone voraciously checking the updates on this game day after day, and now I really just feel depressed. Expand

Mortal Kombat 11 is a must. NetherRealm Studios continues to create great fighting games with compelling stories, even in the goofiest of video game universes. Every minute of my day,

From a combat system that's as polished and exciting as it gets to various game modes that offer something for every kind of player, this will be a game that others will mimic and learn from for years to come.

Have played since MK1. I'm continually impressed with MKs continued improvements in gameplay and effort put into story telling through cut scenes. The last few games put out by NRS have been awesome. But I don't understand why in MK11 extreme wanton violence is allowed but classic female character costumes are not. This is hypocritical. If its okay for the male characters to be hyped up it makes no sense that the female characters can't be. I don't understand how its okay to violently kill woman in a video game but seeing their skin is not okay. It's really sad that MK is no longer pushing the edge in culture its like MK has lost its identity. I could understand maybe covering up the female characters a little more but this is really going way over board into crazy. Many of the Male characters don't have required full combat armor. NRS is not being consistent in its reasons. Stop being hypocrites NRS. What happened to MK? smh Expand

The game is ok. Good graphics, sound and gameplay. This includes Microtransaction, Lootboxes and a calculated grind to match. I paid full price and this game is a scamm. DO NOT BUY IT! (or buy it when it is 1.99 in a wallmart basket)

I won't pretend it's about the SJW bs or the microtransactions.
I just wanted one thing: Mileena to be in the game.
She's not in, so the game isn't delivering imo.

The gameplay mechanics are superb but the grind and towers and krypt systems are so egregious that it needs to be completely overhauled. It's worse than battlefront 2.

I love MK. I remember the first time playing with my brother on a small TV. I was really hyped for this one, only to find a random lottery-krypt and insane unbalanced towers.
The game looks cool, I like the story too, but this kind of grind is made PURPOSEFULLY so people get tired/angry and spend (more) money.
    Shame on you NRS.

Personally, I would give MK11 a solid 10, it's just that damn good in terms of game play this time around. However the monetization really is as big an issue as some may have heard.

Overall, MK11 is the best game in the franchises history and definitely a worthy addition to the storied franchise. The gameplay is deeper than ever, the graphics are crisp, online is slick, character selection is perhaps the best starting group to date, and the story is as cinematic as ever. If you are a MK fan, this is a must own no doubt. If you are new to the franchise, have no fear, this is a great starting point as MK11 contains the best tutorial a gamer could ask for in a fighting game.

    Well done...

    Online ONLY features?
Everything is locked behind an online unnecessary wall to make it more of a grind.

The fighting might be fun but no one has time to seat there and grind that much unless this is your only game left to play in the world.

0.0 out 10.0 for screwing your fans

Thank you IGN for OMITTING the online only stuff from the review...very "honest" on your part.

Also, forcing your personal political agenda has no place in a MK game or in any game for that matter. Some tower endings are just the wet dreams of SJWs. Funny how MK, the game that helped to create the ESRB has fallen into censorship, killing and decapitation is good, bewbs are evil.

Absolute garbage, pay2win, a total waste of money. Why?
    1. Predatory monetization: Extremely grindy in an unfair way designed to make you spend real money.
    2. Missing fan favorite characters like Smoke, Reptile, Mileena etc.
    3. SJW/Feminist/Political agenda forced into the game.

The developers lied about certain aspects (all characters in the story will be playable, there will be unlockable characters, they will listen to the fans and include all the fan favourites...)

Most importantly however: The developers showed how much they disrespect/hate one of the biggest fan favourites (Mileena) and her fanbase. They didn't include her in the game and mocked/ridiculed her fans for telling NRS how much they want their favourite to be a part of the new installment.

Don't buy games from developers who lie to you, mock/ridicule their own fanbase and put wokeness above character consistency.

The gameplay is still filled with the gruesome and gory violence that we’ve come to know and love, the extensive character customization is a welcome addition and the chance of pace is something this longtime fan appreciates. Mortal Kombat 11 is definitely something that any fighting game aficionado should add to their Kollection.

In some ways there are only marginal and cosmetic differences from Mortal Kombat XL. That’s no bad thing, as fans of the series as well as fans of NetherRealm’s last fighter, Injustice 2, will be comfortable with the feel and mechanics, but those tweaks and enhancements, as well as the excellent story mode, mean that with MK11, Mortal Kombat has pretty much now been perfected. With a deep but logical fighting system, heaps of gruesome over-the-top violence and a lovably insane cinematic story mode, Mortal Kombat 11 is an excellent fighting game that should have something for just about every fan of the series, let down only somewhat by a greasy and convoluted customisation system driven by loot boxes and grinding.
