    Monster Jam: Steel Titans doesn't play as Big as the trucks you get to command. The game starts you with a super simple tutorial, then drops you all alone in a free roam area. This area is designed to help you hone your skills, and gives you collectables to find, some being fairly hard to get. The trucks themselves are wonderfully portrayed visually, but don't feel as powerful and heavy asMonster Jam: Steel Titans doesn't play as Big as the trucks you get to command. This area is designed to help you hone your skills, and gives you collectables to find, some being fairly hard to get. The trucks themselves are wonderfully portrayed visually, but don't feel as powerful and heavy as you would suspect. They feel light like an RC car, and tend to be hard to control. The game gives you several options for controlling the 4-Wheel Steering, some might find 2 joysticks controlling the front and back turning separately easier to drive. The game modes were made to represent the intensity of watching these behemoth vehicles burn circles in a Head-to-Head or play with insane power under the hood with a Stunt or Two-Wheel run, but the arena games just feel repetitive and lack luster. I never had to give the gas a feather press so I didn't pop a wheelie on accident! The races were just that, races, with big trucks. The physics on the track only ever seemed to really bother the player as i was sent sailing into the distance, while the AI vehicles were mostly unaffected by collisions, or the rocks along side of the track. I was 'Put back on course' several times for my tires being off the track for a moment, Behind where I was just ON the track. For a game about Monster Trucks, I never crushed a single pile of cars! While there were a few crushed ones on one of the arena stages, they didn't crush further under the weight of my beast.… Expand

    Grab your Beer and Pork rinds we are reviewing Monster Jam Steel Titans. I was really caught off guard how much I really loved this game. I never knew I was a fan of Monster trucks racing and tearing through stuff. You can play as your favorite monster truck, well your second favorite "BigFoot" isn't in this game. There is 25 others though like Grave Digger. You start off training with just a truck cage, and you earn your first truck. You can purchase and upgrade any truck you want as you earn points in your career. I would have liked to created my own truck though, I kind of thought that was coming when i saw the cage without the decorative body.. You will take part in races, freestyle trick events, destruction derby events, and two wheel move events. I don't think you even have to like Monster trucks if you just like racing games you are gonna enjoy this one.
    There is also a open world where you can practice , and hunt the 50 hidden collectibles. It is so awesome it is full of cool things to jump like airplanes. There is just so much to do to keep you busy. The career has so many events as well, and you get unlock points for every event. You can unlock trucks as well. The trucks are awesome, and look just like the real ones. It is so awesome to watch as the trucks fly apart when taking damage. You can even break your wheels and have to repair them. The destruction is just so enjoyable.The races are really challenging to. The game will really test you, and make you work for the wins. Your not just going to blow through this game. It is going to keep you playing, and I guarantee your not gonna step away from it easy. I stayed up all night a few nights saying "Just one more race before bed"
    The music is cool there is theme songs for the different trucks. The sounds are just awesome as well. Roaring engines, and trucks crashing into things sounds so real.The look of the game is amazing to. The graphics look so good, and you can see the the dirt flying just like you would in real life. I'm just blown away by how much i enjoyed this one. The only time i was disappointed when they gave me a truck instead of letting me create my own. maybe that will come in the next one. Until then though there is plenty of fun trucks to use.I can't wait for the next game already I'm now a Monster Jam fan.Found myself looking to see if trucks were coming to my area any time soon to see them in real life.

    Quality game play and controls
    Loaded with features

    Cons: No customization for trucks or drivers except sex

    Overall" 8.5 Game is a blast. I don't care if you even like Monster trucks if you like racing, and doing cool tricks you'll be addicted to this one.    … Expand

    A heck of a lot more fun than people give it credit for. I guess the pseudo intellectual reviewers forgot what simple sandbox fun is. Really, the career is just a way to get credits for different trucks to mess about with in the open world. This is by no means a sim nor is it a typical arcade racer with nitro and more thoughtful customization than racing like recent Need For Speeds. It’sA heck of a lot more fun than people give it credit for. I guess the pseudo intellectual reviewers forgot what simple sandbox fun is. Really, the career is just a way to get credits for different trucks to mess about with in the open world. This is by no means a sim nor is it a typical arcade racer with nitro and more thoughtful customization than racing like recent Need For Speeds. It’s just a monstertruck game in which you make most of the content by being creative. This game doesn’t go very deep, nor is really challenging so far, nor is the story or career or even tutorial very well thought out, it’s just having fun while doing crazy stuff.

    One con of the game is that picking up a penalty during a race happens a bit too often if you don’t take the time to learn the track. Driving is easier with two-stick steering which isn’t on by default, and takes quite a bit of getting used to. Also, the weight is seemingly unrealistic, although from what little I’ve seen, monster trucks are quite happy to fall over. Luckily you can reset, although winning a race after rolling it can be impossible at times. Perhaps more annoying is that you can’t restart career races without going back to the openworld “hub” or university as they call it. Again, I feel the career is just a way to gain credits for different trucks and upgrades, but they could improve a bit here.

    It should be possible to get this at 20 dollar/euro or probably less in pounds, and at that price you might enjoy this for quite a while, considering what you’ve paid for it. But if you want to show your gaming buddies how intellectual and sophisticated you are, you’re probably better off with a different game. I used to love games like SSX3, Need For Speed and Tony Hawks Underground, and although this clearly had a lower budget, I feel this kind of fits the same sort of category. That sort of game has been gone for far too long if you ask me, so I’m happy to see a new game which puts fun ahead of taking itself serious. I give this a solid 8 out of 10.    … Expand

    No online multiplayer, the fun events being locked behind a hard single player race series and the slowest grind of in game currency that I can recall makes it really hard for me to recommend to even the veterans of the racing genre. What’s worse, is that I can’t recommend it to the REAL FANS of Monster Jam, the kids that drag their parents out on a work night to spend $100 on popcorn, a hot dog and a two pack toy truck set of Megalodon and Monster Mutt.

    On some level, I guess, I could see Monster Jam Steel Titans being kind of fun. After all, who doesn’t love wonky physics? At the very least, it makes for the kind of game that’d probably be fun to watch on YouTube or Twitch. But if you’re the one paying out money and playing it yourself then don’t bother, because then all those monster trucks being flipped over a million times by stiff breezes and wayward pebbles suddenly become less silly and charming, and more frustratingly bad.

    For a budget game, there's a lot to love in Monster Jam Steel Titans, despite its shortcomings. If you're a megafan of Monster Jam, there's probably never been a better game. Still, it's lacking some basic design functions that could make it a must-own. My kid loves it though, and sometimes that's all that matters.
