    Monochrome Order on Xbox One makes a decent fist of being an interesting RPG, but then shoots itself in the foot by making it harder to play unless you buy extra things.

    Overall, we have a simple, repetitive JRPG that doesn’t really add anything to the genre of note, further hampered by the fact that you can buy add-ons to make the whole thing even less engaging. As it is, it’s all too forgettable and really, not worth investing much time in at all.

    Monochrome Order. It's a new game of Hit-Point and KEMCO. That makes the impression that it's optimized for the Xbox a bit more than theirMonochrome Order. It's a new game of Hit-Point and KEMCO. That makes the impression that it's optimized for the Xbox a bit more than their existing mobile ported versions. In particular, Xbox Achievements are included in typical fashion! In addition, their straightforward translations have been improved as well. KEMCO seems to have made a particular effort in this new game. The game is overall above average based on the 2D classic JRPG genre. As you may know, they are veteran developers who have been releasing games in the genre for nearly 2 decades. The main features of their game are nice anime artworks and great OSTs. Its features also carry on to their new game, Monochrome Order. To be honest, the game story is not impressive. There are too many characters without common sense, and many meaningless NPCs. In addition, maps require a lot of unnecessary movement. It's like forcibly increasing play time. Except that, the game experience is generally good. The game system complements this 2D turn-based RPG well. There are skip and auto functions, and the quest can be easily checked. Thanks to its fast-paced combat, the battle part is less boring. But other than that, the rest of the game pace is a bit slow. And there are quite a lot of sprites being reused. NPCs and monsters in particular are simple color changes. Of course, given its affordable price, Monochrome Order will be a good oasis for gamers who have longed for for classic JRPG style games. KEMCO strikes again in fabulous support for the fabulous Xbox One family of consoles.… Expand
