Mochi Mochi Boy is a decent game for its budget cost, but as with most things cheap, you really do get what you pay for. Whilst it’s fun by concept, and perhaps even exciting when new mechanics are introduced, repetition ultimately sinks in, and fast. This is very unlikely to blow your socks of, but it’s a serviceable journey nonetheless, and one that doesn’t take itself all that seriously.

Like anything Ratalaika Games put out these days, the achievements are some of the easiest going; so easy that I was done in about half an hour. So if you’re on the lookout for some easy Gamerscore, pick this one up. If you aren’t, I’d recommend avoiding it.

Mochi Mochi Boy is a retro like Puzzler that is easy to pick up, and really tough to master. It really took me back to the days of playing "Adventures of LoLo" You play as a slime trying to make your way through mazes, and rescue your friends. They were kidnapped by a devil, and as you make your way through the tower you find them hidden away in little chests. You have to make your way through 138 floors full of portals, spring traps, bombs, and Monsters when playing the random generated Dungeon maps. These are the real challenge, they are tough because you are timed and a death means starting completely over. You get a lot of value with this one. Getting all the levels completed and rescuing all your friends will certainly take you some time. There is a gallery to look at all of them as you unlock them. I wish you were able to play with them , because I loved a lot of their designs.
I really enjoyed the classic retro look and sounds. The music is really top quality as well. Pixelteriyaki really does an amazing job at capturing and delivering a retro feel. My favorite title from them to date. Like all Ratalaika games it's easy Achievements/Trophies so Achievement/Trophy hunters will be very interested in this as well. If you can get to level 30 of the tower, and to level three of the dungeon you are going to take home a complete game on this one. I was able to do so in under thirty minutes. The fun doesn't stop there though, because it starts getting really difficult from there, and If you like a real challenge it's going to give you hours of fun.

Pros: Retro feel and sound delivers
    Challenging Mazes
    Cool characters,traps, and enemies
    Easy Achievements/Trophies
    Ton of slime to unlock

Cons: Wish you could play with the various slime you find.

Overall:7.4 Mochi Mochi boy is another great release from Ratalakia games that delivers hours upon hours of fun, and easy Achievements. PixelTeriyaki does an amazing job of delivering retro classic feel like you got from classics like Adventures of LoLo. An affordable addition to your collection you won't regret.

Mochi Mochi Boy and his friends, while out on a misadventure, they stumble into the Devils Domain, and the Devil steals all the slimes, but Mochi. Now it's up to you to solve the Tower, and save the slimes. The game is super simple with two game modes and the ability to change Mochi's color. The first mode is Tower, where you will spend the majority of your time here, solving the puzzles and freeing your friends. The second game mode is Dungeon, where the game randomly chooses puzzles to put you against, a great place to go once you've cleared the tower to keep the game fun. The puzzles are almost like "Snake", you move one space at a time, filling the spaces behind you, and you can't pass over yourself, the object being to fill every tile with Mochi. The Difficulty of these puzzles ranges from straight forward, where the path is obvious, to mind bending. Once you've collected slimes from the tower, you can view them all in the gallery, with a tidbit of info with each of them. If you don't like Mochi Mochi Boy's color you can go over to Paint, and change it. Mochi Mochi Boy is one of the simplest games I've played, while remaining a great challenge at times. With a low price tag, this is a great addition for anyone that loves puzzle games. Expand
