    Metro Last Light improves on its predecessor in almost every conceivable way. Improved graphics and story, varied gameplay with stealth and survival horror elements.

    The game has a very good ambience to it, and it does convey the feeling of anxiety that a post-apocalyptic world would give. Weapons are also interesting, and the story is somehow compelling. It does seem off that you begin with the negative choice option from Metro 2033, which renders all other choices in the first game useless, at least for those compelled to do "good".

    On top of that, there are so many issues that ultimately the game battles fall into a sequence of repetitive running/gunning sequences, hampered by horrific gameplay, clumsy controls and an idiotic GUI.
    Many times I was stuck running away from enemies while trying to press the Y button along with the control pad to choose a different grenade. I died very often due to character stopping running to change directions, or even in strafing. One of the least counter-intuitive games I ever played. Reloading is slow, and very often you get mobbed due to that. Weapon change is equally frustrating, sometimes re-reloading just on weapon change. Grenades would sometime kill me but not monsters, even though they would be thrown 4 meters aways from me, on top of said monster.
    The game had at least 5 crashes that made me restart the level, which is annoying and completely unacceptable. Felt rough and underdeveloped.

    In the end, the games feels as if it was a great idea very poorly executed.

    Graphics - 5/10 - good, but nothing amazing, scenario can feel empty and meaningless - large areas with very few exploration to be done, since there are only one or two stashes to find each level. Path choices are limited, ultimately leading to the same one path, always.
    Sound - 6.5/10 - impressive narration, voices (particularly the Russian accent in American dub), but the other sound effects are unimpressive. Gunshots, running, water, seems all sounds are just one of those pre-made sounds anyone can download from a ringtone app.
    Story - 5/10 - Game picks up where last one left, though for aforementioned reasons, it seems to nullify the effort of playing nice on the first entry. On top of that, apart from one small twist, mostly orchestrated due to limited freedom of choice, the plot is very predictable, and it falls onto the category of Dances with Wolves, The Last Samurai, Avatar and many other stories of "enemy-becomes-friend".
    Gameplay - 1/10 - as mentioned, one of the worst games I have ever played - and here I am giving my memory the benefit of the doubt. I can't remember any game worse than this one.
    Replayability - 0/10 - if not so plagued by so many issues, there might be possibility to replay, get other achievements/trophies. As is, this game will go back to the shelf, and it will never be replayed.    … Expand

    Metro 2033 was 8/10 so this would be 7/10.
    Last gen graphic, need more polish, better sound a bigger budget. But still a good and atmospheric game....

    Metro Last Light fixed all the problems I've had with Metro 2033.
    It was a great time and I highly recommend it.
    The one thing I really didn't like was the criteria for the good ending. You can not kill any NPC in the whole game, but since you didn't listen to every dialogue in the streets you won't get the good ending. That's just bad. You also really see that they weren't constrained    Metro Last Light fixed all the problems I've had with Metro 2033.
    It was a great time and I highly recommend it.

    Also the load times on Xbox Series are just fantastic!

    Verdict: It's fun! Read the novel Metro 2033 first and the play this and you'll have a great time!

    Soundtrack: 5/5 - Perfect for this type of game

    Graphics: 3/5 - Acceptable
    Length: 5/5 - Feels perfect
    Replay Value: 2/5 - Not much other than different difficulties which aren't worth it.
    Enjoyment: 4/5 - Had loads of fun. But got frustrated from time to time because of the gameplay problems.

    Metro Last Light Redux is a very good 2nd installment to the franchise. I played this almost immediately after completing Metro 2033 Redux. The First thing I noticed was the big improvement in level design. The stealth missions give you a vast amount of ways to approach particular enemies and situations. The stealth missions give you a vast amount of ways to approach particular enemies and situations. They also added open-world elements to the game in a select few missions, though they are only small. I found the story to be more interesting and the characters to be as memorable as the first game, something I didn't think they'd be able to achieve. I have a few issues with the choices they made regarding Khan. I felt like he was not as stoic as he was in the first, which is a shame as that's what made him so badass. They instead opted him in as an angry, confrontational man which felt very off. The character development of Anna is also really quite bad. They could have done a lot more with her, instead, she goes from disrespecting you any chance she gets to wanting to sleep with you in a matter of hours, and then basically thrown in the background and forgotten about in the last third of the game. There was also a period of two open space swamp levels which you come across after leaving Venice that I didn't enjoy at all. Running around trying to find gas and avoiding random, practically invisible water holes, whilst constantly being attacked by killer shrimps is not fun...

    Overall, this is a very enjoyable game experience and one of the best apocalyptic games around. I'd recommend it to everyone. About to check out all the DLC levels. Figures Crossed!    … Expand

    Superior to the first opus in every single aspect. Incredibly immersive, interesting sequel story to follow, better level design with far less frustrating moments. The only cons here for me is the hidden karma system linked to the alternative ending. Getting this ending without a guide would take you several whole game run and there surely is a better way to bring. In my top 3 FPS licencesSuperior to the first opus in every single aspect.     An improvement over the prior game, and certainly the best game in the Metro series thus far (better than Exodus).

    Great ambient and cool story, however it doesn`t improve on it`s original graphics and kind of quirky combat. It includes a couple extra levels that add a lot to the experience, wich ncludes a battle simulator wich is cool to play.

По сути из нового здесь только сюжет, который, кстати говоря, является альтернативным продолжением романов Глуховского, правда специально им написанный для Metro: Last Light. В плане геймплея, арсенала оружия и прочих примочек да и даже графики это всё тот же Metro 2033. Плохо ли это? В каком-то смысле да. Когда я знакомился с первой игрой серии для меня это было откровение и я получил массу удовольствия от чего-то нового. Забегая вперёд, к счастью Exodus-у меня тоже удалось взбудоражить и по-хорошему удивить. Metro: Last Light я лично воспринимаю как DLC к 2033. Она в меру интересная со сносным сюжетом, но к сожалению, вторичная. Хотя тем кому понравилась первая часть уверен, что зайдёт и эта.… Expand

    The game retains the same great atmosphere, interesting setting and well done horror elements from the first game. The survival? I guess? elements with regards to filters really work and contribute even more to the horror and atmosphere.     The original release of Metro: Last Light was already a solid experience. Redux doesn't make significant changes to it, but it is still a very stunning post-apocalyptic experience.
