Original, sometimes fun and, above all, it provides an experience that we haven't been able to try before without you feeling tied to a loading screen.

Few games manage to properly capture the sensation of becoming a superhero, and for the most part those that do it best are often firmly grounded in reality, like the Arkham Series; even the Infamous games and those that do take a more fantastical approach to the genre are constrained by the fact that they’re generally restricted to a single city. Megaton Rainfall gives you the entire planet to take care of and, while it can be an overwhelming responsibility at times, it’s one that I find myself stepping up to time and time again.

An interesting concept capable of making us feel the real power of a super-being, but it lacks the structure of a proper game to support it. Its repetitive gameplay and lack of contents make it feel more like a tech demo rather than a full-blown game.

Megaton Rainfall is one of those games that clearly houses a great deal of potential, but sadly fails to meet it on almost all fronts. Credit needs to be given to the one-man developer for the sheer amount of ambition here, that much has to be said. However, the end result, despite its environmental diversity and its clever mechanics, makes for game that’s short, sloppy, visually bland and ultimately uninteresting.

In terms of content the game doesn’t have much to offer you and it definitely feels a little on the short side. Technichally the game suffersIn terms of content the game doesn’t have much to offer you and it definitely feels a little on the short side. Technichally the game suffers with a few annoying issues and I especially got annoyed with the awkward and sometimes unresponsive controls at times. Once you complete the game you’re highly unlikely to return back to it because it doesn’t give you any reasons to return back to the game. Does Megaton Rainfall do enough to get a recommendation from me? All in all when I was kid I dreamt of being a superhero but obviously that was never going to happen because I liked my food too much. Joking apart there isn’t many game’s out there that offer you the chance to be a superhero so Megaton Rainfall intrigued me quite a bit and for the most part it does deliver to you a fun and enjoyable experience. It could however have been much better because the core mechanics are spot on but there are a few shortcomings to contend with which in the end caused a little frustration where there didn’t need to be. That being said the unique setting and the satisfying feeling of taking out enemies does do the game justice and that means that Megaton Rainfall does do enough to get a thumbs up from me.
