    Some of the best technical combat found in megaman. Very challenging but rewarding and fulfilling.

Originally on the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS this collection of games is now all here in a complete anthology. This collection has several great features to help you enjoy these classic titles. Originally on the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS this collection of games is now all here in a complete anthology. This collection has several great features to help you enjoy these classic titles. There is a graphics filter, that allows you to slightly alter how the games are presented, allowing you the crisp original pixels, a blurring filter that smooths the pixels out, and a noise filter that feels like you're looking at an old handheld. For the DS games, you can also alter your screen layout, choosing how the second screen is presented to you. The developers also added Save Assist points in the games, as theses games were hard, even for Mega Man fans, these games would punish you for some of the most minor mistakes at the controller side. This difficulty is still there, but the save assists help a ton. You have access to the full set of tracks available straight from the starts without having to unlock anything, so you can enjoy these epic soundtracks to your heart's content. There are also cosmetic options added to the games, allowing you to slightly alter the appearance of some of the backgrounds! All and all Fans of Mega Man Zero and ZX shouldn't pass this collection up, and with the new features, this is now a great place for introducing new gamers to this genre!… Expand

    (Reviewing based on the games themselves and not the adaptation.) All 4 Zero entries are plagued 3 by major, gameplay ruining additions:
    New powers, but only if you do good - In an incredibly baffling turn of events, Zero only learns new powers 'um actu-' I DON'T CARE THAT THEY ARE CALLED SKILLS. Anyway, Zero only learns new powers on the condition that the player performs incredibly    (Reviewing based on the games themselves and not the adaptation.) Anyway, Zero only learns new powers on the condition that the player performs incredibly well... too well, impossibly well. Odds are that the average person will be VERY behind that mark.
    Cyber Elves! Er, guess not... - You can use Cyber Elves to make the missions more bearable... but they lock you out of the previously mentioned perfection required to obtain new abilities. I mean, I guess its more likely to make use out of the quadruple health bar elves than it is plausible to get an A in these levels. Some Elves even grant you a guaranteed A rank, thus a guaranteed power, but they are VERY few.
    Study the maps like its a goddamn exam :/ - Instead of asking for skill or to learn a pattern, this game asks for memory. A lot of memory. It feels like there are up to thousands of mistakes that you, the player, are forced to make and then remember for next time. This sucks, and from my memory has always sucked in any game, ever.

    The worst part? These issues create a loop of dissatisfying gameplay. The level is difficult in unfair ways that you can't avoid without already making the severe mistake and remembering all 400 of them for next time > you can't use Cyber Elves because that will lock you out of powers > you can't get powers because you are expected to breeze through as though its easy > it isn't easy because of the reason at the start of this loop. That doesn't even mention the forced damage either! What a trainwreck of not just a game, but a series. Yes, they added stuff to make it easier, but these problems are rooted down to its core - to fix them, Zero series needs reworked, not re-released.

    As for ZX, its much more bearable due to the existence of Easy Mode. Unfair fall? Unavoidable damage? Want to simply have a safe environment to learn the game? Plain just don't like normal and hard difficulty? Got you covered with fall recovery, reduced damage received and boosted damage dealt! Also, powers are guaranteed again, FINALLY. Only issue is the exploration and navigation, gets very confusing without a better map from online, but you can get there.    … Expand

    A fantastic collection of some of the best Megaman titles! Capcom has given this collection plenty of attention, and really rammed in as many features as possible. Presented in beautiful HD, with loads of display and filter options, and running at a silky smooth frame rate, it ensures players can find something that suits their taste. The new multiplayer, casual mode, and save assist features make this the definitive version of the games. To have Zero and ZX recognised and ported to current gen, makes sure they aren't forgotten, and allows new audiences to pick them up and get stuck into probably the best GBA series, and two very fun DS games, on their modern consoles. A fantastic collection, worth a recommendation to anyone in the market for some slick and stylish side-scrolling action.

    The Mega Man Zero ZX Legacy Collection is definitely a game that provides a lot of value in the package. The Mega Man games are still great fun to play and perfect for fans of the series who may have missed out on these Original Nintendo DS games. There are a few graphical and control issues to overlook, sure, but that doesn’t detract from the fact these are still decent 2D Platform shooters.

    Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection on Xbox One is a rock(man)-solid compilation of some classic GBA and DS titles. The presentation is great, the games are incredibly polished and fun, and the value is undeniable. That said, not every game in the compilation has stood the test of time, and as these games were not made to be played on a television their visual quality can be hit. Still, for Mega Man fans this is a must-buy, as it brings 6 beloved games into a neat and tidy package.
