    Mask of Mists is a wonderful first-person adventure title considering the size of the team that made it and is appropriately priced on the marketplace. There is also a trial that can allow 30 minutes of gameplay to experience what it’s like before committing to the purchase. The price for both versions are the same, but I would highly recommend getting the newer X|S version with upgraded visuals, lighting, and faster load times.

    Mask of Mists on Xbox One is pretty disappointing. Its puzzles are uninspired, the sound design is rough, the monsters are boring, and the entire game just feels hollow. It is not a game that feels like it has an interesting story or experience to share with the player. The greatest quality I can think of is that it has some well-designed environments that are easy to navigate. Yet, when the game is not fun to play, why bother sticking around?

The game is split into various areas and includes some Legend of Zelda-esque dungeons. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, do give this review a read, I’ll be covering various aspects of the game. While there's definitely a lot of action, the emphasis here is on exploration and puzzle solving. What I really like about this game is how everything is confined to a small area. There are a lot of classic adventure game themes here, especially when it comes to collecting items and using them to open up the interconnected world. Every house, cave and path has a purpose, and I was constantly impressed by how much the developer was able to do with so little.I couldn't help but get excited every time I found a key, learned a spell or dug up a hidden item that opened up a new part of the map. I normally enjoy a lot of colour in the games that I play and Mask of Mists definitely hits the fantasy feel on the head. The game’s graphics are quite excellent and it looks superb at 4K resolution as well. Overall it's fun game to play and takes mostly between four to seven hours to finish the game but they low price of admission helps.… Expand
