    After the up-and-down rollercoaster that has been this season of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Episode 5: Don't Stop Believin' has managed to tie together an emotionally-investing story. With an ending that packs quite a punch, this episode finally seems to have gotten right what the rest of the season had so far been lacking. By trimming down the poor gameplay movements, and focusing more on telling a better story without constant replays by cheap deaths, this is probably the best episode of the season. It is just unfortunate that it took so long to actually get to.

    Despite walking back the massive cliffhanger from the previous episode, Don't Stop Believin' is a funny and emotionally strong conclusion to Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy series.

    Don’t Stop Believin’ is a good conclusion for Guardians of the Galaxy series, even though it still carries almost all issues from the previous episodes. In the end, Guardians of the Galaxy could have become one the best Telltale games if its action and adventure aspects were as good as its story and character development.

    Episode 5 is an experience of two very different halves; a slow, slightly boring part talking about feelings and mending the broken team with ease, followed swiftly by an action-packed, fun-filled final half.

    Episode 5 of Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy, the final episode, is one of the weakest of the series. It moves too fast, leaves out too many details and feels kinda rushed overall. Even with an epic end fight, this can't save the episode.

    Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a popular IP that has strong action and emotion, all backed up by a rock-solid soundtrack. Telltale held the power to make it a memorable addition to the Telltale library, but they let it slip away. The story hits some of the notes of a feel-good superhero story, but falls flat when it tries to evoke more powerful emotions like sadness. Flashbacks to prior episodes are often used as a crutch as well, making the final episode thin on new content. When you strip away the lackluster storytelling, all you have is an outdated engine, QTE sequences that have been wearing thin for a long time, and clunky gameplay that can't stand on its own.
