So far the most enjoyable snowboard sim to be released IMO. However, this all depends on what you will be looking for the game to provide. For those who are arcade style fans, this game will most likely not be for you.

So far the most enjoyable snowboard sim to be released IMO. However, this all depends on what you will be looking for the game to provide. For those who are arcade style fans, this game will most likely not be for you.

As others have mentioned, there is a learning curve involved that requires a lot of practice and patience. Unfortunately in this age of instant gratification, there seems to be a large crowd who will claim the controls to be broken and not worth it. When was the last time you were able to pull off a clean backside 540 mute with only one run under your belt in real life? This form of session and practice is what the devs were going for in this game, so recognize diligence is where the reward is here.

In saying that, there is some unrealistic ways your rider can spin and torque. This will anger the purists out there, but on the flipside recognize that the devs are doing the best they can to tailor to a full community of players. There will be those who simply want to huck themselves off of a cliff and have a chance of landing something that would otherwise kill you in real life. This is a delicate balance but one where the controls in game give you the freedom to ride how you would like. Don't want to throw a ridiculous 2800 quad cork? Then ease up on the time you hold the triggers and you'll throw down a smooth 900.

Graphical fit and polish is decent but not mind blowing. Let's remember that this is not a AAA title and there are budgets that exist out there. The fact that HB was able to hit the game physics as well as they have deserves kudos. There is a mountain editor within game that should really excite those with creative minds. It allows for a lot of options within reason to create runs and parks you dream of in real life. I would love to see a bit more rider/gear customization in game but the devs have stated they hope to add more going forward.

Which brings me to my final point. The devs have been incredibly involved with the community and have actively been engaging in pertinent conversations regarding game content. This to me shows a passion for their creation and a willingness to create the best version of Infinite Air as possible. Again, possible being the key word here. Money nor time grows on trees so there will be limitations to what they can provide. Let us respect that as a gaming and rider community.

For those who have the patience and enjoy putting in work for the sake of reward, I believe you will enjoy this game. If you have a background in snowboarding, I believe you will enjoy this game. If you can look at the development of a first iteration game considering all things, I believe you will enjoy this game. For $50, I would say support a largely realistic snowboard sim from a developer who has shown the humble capacity to listen and provide. Happy shredding!

    - Start Game
    - Skip Tutorials
    - Jump in Helicopter, find Mt. Everest, fly to summit
    - take ridiculous jump at 80 mph, set world records for air-time, spins, and flips simultaneously
    - miraculously land
    - hit outcropping of rock and watch carcass hurl helplessly down the rest of the mountain... at 80 mph

    Excellent snowboarding simulation game.

Hard to master but deep controls and physics based trick system. It's a very satisfying feeling to nail a cork or a nollie nose press on a rail. Mountain editing tool seems very neat and I'm excited to see what people make with it.

The game could use a bit more polish around the edges, but the core gameplay systems feel great, and the devs have a history of supporting their games well after launch (The Golf Club)

We finally have a great Snowboarding game this generation. Probably my favorite since Amped 2.

Unfortunately, not the game I was hoping for. After Skate came out, I couldn't wait for someone to make a realistic snowboard game a la AMPED 2. From the adverts and previews, Infinite Air seemed to tick all the right boxes. Having played the game for about 5 hours, I have to say it is disappointing.

My biggest gripe are the controls. They take a tremendous amount of time to get used to, and are simply not intuitive. I have a much easier time landing a quad cork 2160 than landing a cork 720. There is simply no easy way to slow or speed a spin down once it is initiated, and the torquing system is much too sensitive.

In addition to that, the game is quite rough around the edges. Speed is too fast for most situations, there is a lot of pop-in, and you can often get stuck in glitchy spots.

Finally, the career is very simplistic and short lived. The game has no narrative and becomes repetitive very quickly.

IF you snowboard in real life and you want a game that will challenge you, you will enjoy this game. The game does not really have a career mode, but that is not what it is about. The game is about creating and shredding...there's not much else to it. The animations are excellent and you can snowboard as realistically as you would like or you can pull off crazy moves. I have already spent hours just chilling, listening to music, and shredding. The only reason this game did not receive a 10 from me is that it tends to not run very well. If there is a lot on screen it will stutter and that is distracting. Hopefully they release some updates down the road that help it run smoother. A lot of people have been complaining about the controls and I'm not entirely sure why. Sure, the controls are complex, but if you were to design a game that allows you to control many aspects of a snowboarder, they would need to be complex. Once you get the hang of it this game is truly a joy. Grab a beer (or soda or whatever), sit back, put on some good background music, and shred. Expand

And even then it takes total concentration if you want to make it look as good as it feels. It is not a button masher. Technical controls like (*Half pulls on the triggers with gradual pressure) count towards making your rider really become one with the snow.

I can't give it a 10 because the game is not perfect. There are some end game editor, options, and controls that can be added. The team that work on this game are always improving it and I can't wait for the next update. I thinks worth more than a 8 though - I love it so much and think that anybody who wants a snowboarding game to play like a snowboarding game should.... well you need to play this... and take your time to get good at it.

Infinite AIr is the most authentic snowboarding game ever made. Learning curve is massive, animations are impressive, sound design is nearly perfect and, the most important, gameplay is fantastic. Don't trust official reviewers and try this game (free demo on steam).

I have been waiting for a snowboard game like this to come around for a long time. This genre has been running on fumes. It is not an arcade style game where you're able to travel more than 100mph or drop hundreds of feet without consequence. It is a simulation game that doesn't get too heavy on the simulation. I love the original Amped and Amped 2 games and have been looking forward to a game close to that style. Infinite Air does not have as much to do as those games do in terms of objectives, attributes, and unlockable gear but the gameplay (that has been forgotten), style, size of mountain, freedom, world editor, challenge, etc...more than makes up for it. I have only put about 20 or so hours into it so far but I already know that I will be putting more time into it and will be replaying it a lot over the years. If this is what the developer is just starting with, I cannot wait to see where they go with it (if it gets enough support). It was heavily overlooked with Steep in the spotlight. I am not going to make comparisons except I want people to know that you can't grind in Steep which was a huge letdown for me. If you're looking for a more realistic snowboard game with unlimited levels from cross-platform user created mountains, do not hesitate to pick this hidden gem up. The controls do take a bit to get a hang of but that's a feature I love. You don't just press a button to grind. You need to set yourself up, turn the right way and balance your way across the rail/box/tree. Same setup applies for jumps. There's a nice way to preload spins and flips. There is also an in-depth tutorial to help you get started and an option to look up moves in the start menu. I would like to see more gear options to equip for the custom rider but it's enough for a start. The developers have been updating the game and are listening to community feedback. I hope this game gets enough attention to really take off so that more games like this can be made down the road. Thank you HB Studios! Expand

"They should make a snowboarding game like this" -Me, several years ago while enjoying the hell out of the original SKATE

"Oh wow....they did it" -Me on release day

The game has issues for sure, bugs and little graphical hitches come up often, but they are extremely easy to overlook because playing the game feels so good, the developer has been great at talking to the community and giving updates, and I really can't wait to see what the future of this franchise holds, things like more MP support, camera options, customization, and new world editor features are some things I really look forward to, so if you're reading this i'm under the assumption you are looking for a snowboarding game, this is the one!

This is no SSX arcade racer, so scoring points during challenges only unlocks gear that has no effect in skill level or anything more than cosmetics. The true joy of the game lies in free roaming the mountains and finding parks and slopestyle courses throughout, created by users across the Internet (and did I mention that custom mountains and courses are cross-platform, meaning that it doesn’t matter if they were created for PC, Xbox or PS4 - they are all playable). This is made possible by a World Editor that provides you the tools to sculpt the terrain and create the mountain of your dreams, filled with nature or man-made units that you can jump off, grind or crash into.
Bottom line: If you’re snowboarding in real life, this is the game for you! It’s so true to the spirit of the sport, that it will make you put down your controller and shred the nearest slope, visualizing the game in your mind at the same time. And this is no small thing for a game to do.

Infinite Air is a major letdown, broken at launch and still having minor frame rate issues after title updates. All that's left is a mixture between an overpriced bad simulator and a hard arcade snowboarding game. All things considered, hardcore fans may be pleased with this title, not because of how good it is, but as I said, due to the lack of snowboarding games currently on the market. Here's hoping Steep lives up to the hype.

It goes without saying though that Mark McMorris Infinite Air by HB Studios offers an incredible amount of replay value through its World Editor, but outside of that you will most likely struggle to find the same type of enjoyment in the other areas of this game.

Infinite Air is the epitome of an OK game. Nothing stands out, and the fun to be had is minimal. Also at the $50 price point it is hard to recommend to anyone, especially with Snow being free-to-play, and Steep just around the corner. It feels like the start of the genre and not the ultimate entry it so desperately wants to be.
