Machinarium on Xbox One is a beautiful, stylish little puzzler that provides a real challenge. More important than that, however, is the fact that it immerses you in a fascinating and mysterious world that is an absolute pleasure to explore.

You play as a simple bot, with simple needs, whose world is turned upside down when a few bad seeds start to cause trouble. You start as you crash in your, bathtub? and have to put yourself together. You play by simply clicking on the environment to move and interact with it. Like most Point-and-Click games you'll be collecting items, sometimes combining them into new items, and using them to navigate the world and NPCs. The artistic stylization adds a quaint and charming feel to the game. The soundtrack blends well with the art and keeps the mood intact. The game is a series of puzzles you have to figure out to advance, some simple, others mind-melting. If you can't figure out a scene, there is a hint button in your inventory that will bring up a bubble of what your bot is thinking. and if that's not enough to figure it out, there is a book up there as well. After a short and fairly simple minigame, the book will pop open with a storyboard of the area you're in. This set of images will ONLY tell you about the area you're in, so you may have to do things in other areas to have what you need for where you are. This is easily one of the most charming, and fun Point-and-clicks I've experienced in a long time, enjoyable to the end! Expand
