It is because of the greatness of many parts – the animal morphing, the stunning visuals, brilliant audio and availability of many hidden collectables and secrets – that Lost Ember on Xbox One is able to provide a pretty unique experience that many gamers will love.

Based on an impeccable art direction, Lost Ember provides a very enjoyable and quite emotional experience but suffers from some technical issues that prevent it from being a must have.

Lost Ember: Imagine a game where the only thing you are controlling is movement but is so entrancing you can't stop playing or you can't stopLost Ember: Imagine a game where the only thing you are controlling is movement but is so entrancing you can't stop playing or you can't stop thinking about how it's going to end. You're taken back to ancient times when tribes and kingdoms controlled the world. When believing in a higher power was the only important thing. Two souls, one of them trying to reach the city of light where souls go after their life, and the other who is a soul wanderer, banned from the city of the light. Our main character is a wolf, at least she looks like a wolf, she is a soul wanderer who can move her soul to another body and control them. You try to help that lost soul reach the city of the light. The game's music and atmosphere is incredibly chill and relax. The only thing you have to do is find the memories and see into the past. Be ready for some cruel moments. I was so close to crying while I'm playing the game. The developers are caring about their game so much I had a chance to speak with some of them. They were so passionate about their masterpiece, and this game deserves to be called a masterpiece! You aren't going to fight or solve puzzles, but prepare yourself for a great story and the salvation of two souls. Full Review »

Its beautifully designed and somthing you don't see very often that's pulled off as well as this game has. This is a peaceful game that just finds it's way into soothing the soul while embarking on an adventure to unlock the past of your forgotten soul. Personally would recommend this game to any new gamer or well rehearsed gamer alike. There are a few moments of confusion but that is also the beauty of the gsme itself. Truly a top ten for this years gaming list for me at least. Relax, enjoy and adventure it's beautiful story through the many eyes of the world around it. Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. The slow-motion feature isn't really needed. The game slows down by itself. Sometimes it even freezes for a couple of seconds for no reason. Also, there are visual bugs. Especially the 'red dome-walls' and the reflection of your companion's red glow in the water seem to be quite buggy. Moreover, the music stops playing/becomes quieter depending on where you look. Whether this is intentional or not, to me, it feels out of place.
The German text/description/advises are incomplete and the subtitles don't match with the spoken lines. (I want to point out mooneye is a German studio) I don't know if this is also the case with other languages. Then again, I don't really want to find out.
Additionally, I think the voice acting of your companion sounds very flat ( in German). It lacks depth. Even in the more intense moments. I was kinda hoping for something like in the flashbacks.
Also, I was hoping it'd be more than 'daddy-issues' and it'd focus more on the ancient civilization. Somewhat like a Tomb Raider game, without the fighting, but some nice platforming instead.
The visuals, especially the colors are very pretty, though.
