For whatever reason they made it to where you have to acquire 100 Gold Bricks in order to create your own world and at first you're like okay, that's fine. I'll look around discover things, awesome! And then 27 hours later you're sitting at 92 Gold Bricks and can't find anymore. You start the game out customizing your astronaut with extremely limited options, and then skydive into the first world…
It’s here you learn that you’re destined to become a master builder…
your ship is wrecked and you need to go gather materials to get it working again.
    Sound familiar?
This game is literally LEGO No Mans Sky, without the deformed creatures walking around…
Except it actually has a co-op mode that it isn’t lying about
you can player either local or online with your psn friends… no randoms
You whole point of the game is to complete tasks in exchange for a golden block…
And as you progress through the game and collect more blocks you unlock new tools which in tern unlock new quest types…
You have a discovery tool which you use to scan to items and animals in the world.. this tool allows you to shoot and place these items anywhere in the world…
there’s a paint tool to change the color of items...
a copy tool that allows you to select a structure in the world and save it to bring it with you..
a land scape tool to alter the landscape,, raise it, lower it, change it, remove it, and finally the build tool that allows you to freely build items brick by brick
You run around and complete the handful of tasks these residents need, they give you a golden block in return and you can either explore or go to a new random world…
the game also gives you a preview before you land so you can constantly search for something else if you aren’t happy with the procedurally generated planet you get…
unfortunately.. This is all the game is...
and because of that it gets boring fast and loses its charm fast…
The worlds are extremely small when you start out… they gradually increase in size when you hit the mile stones of collecting 25,50,and 80 blocks.. Eventually having multiple bio domes...
The issue though is that the game isn’t fun enough to entice players to make it that far… to have to travel to anywhere from 25 to 80 different planets doing the same boring tasks to eventually be able to play on these larger maps or even collect 100 to unlock the ability to create your own world…
And because this is so no man’s sky where its land, explore, and go… there’s no incentive to build…
there’s no reason to collect all of these items and animals and build a fortress on a planet.. because you’re leaving it all behind after you’re done painting some gingerbread man’s lollipop for the 18th time
basically you’re solving problems with Legos on randomly generated planets that all look practically identical that are no fun to explore…
    ride animals, vehicles….
explore caves for treasures to unlock new weapons to deal with rogue Lego creatures…
rinse and repeat until your bored.
    it didn’t take me long…
And that’s sad because the game opens with such charm and character…
The rest of the game should’ve been just as handcrafted as its opening with increasing challenge to your task at hands…
But instead they tried to chase Minecraft and no man’s sky, and fell on their face
    I give LEGO Worlds
    a 6/10

You unlock stuff by using the discover tool and then you can by it with money that you find during the game. There are also hidden chests that give money, tools, etc.
The AI does interact with each other in interesting ways. Nothing like seeing a zombie pirate riding a alligator chasing a person around.
The game at this point is only two players, either local splitscreen or online. Hopefully TT will fix this and patch in a bigger amount of people in a world.
There are FPS drops that really do suck. I am one that can play through those but it's something I am sure TT could send a patch to fix.
TT does plan on adding more and more to the game so it will be interesting to see where it will end up in the future. I know as it is now me and my fiancee are having a blast to play.
Also since I have seen some people complain about this but there is a creative mode you can unlock after you collect 100 gold pieces. I don't know why TT did this other then to maybe let you see the different ways you can do things before you go off on your own.
I reccommend this game to people who want a laid back game that allows you to build with legos like in real life. It's not perfect but the issues are things that TT can patch and fix up. Hopefully more people will buy it so TT will continue years and years of improvements like Minecraft has had done.

When I did a world I got a volcano world with water, Excavators and Science workers along with rock trolls, scorpions, and spiders. it made a little sense. Then I did a random seed and I got a junk car world with a mixture of people that didn't belong there like a Jewel thief. But all in all its a fun game. You have enemies that will attack you. You have to discover items to unlock and buy them with studs. You could easily compare this to No man's sky. You can do your thing explore what you want then move on to the next planet or you can build and build until your heart's content like Mine Craft. Its great for the whole family or for young kids. I got nostalgic from when I was a kid and combined my lego sets. Nice memories that now come to life. Its definitely a must buy and hopefully they will support this game with dlc and offer stuff like Batman or Marvel or DC. The bad guys will fight the good guys on their own. Good stuff Expand

It is not perfect, but it will do until LEGO works out some of its bugs. A cool feature that was available during early access was the ability to build things in Lego Digital Designer then port them over to the actual game. I hope this is still an option because I want to build a pirate ship so badly! LDD may be a better choice for those who are challenged or intimidated by the building features LEGO Worlds offers. Please also remember if not for LEGO there would be no MInecraft!!! Great job LEGO for thinking inside the sandbox on this one. Expand

One of the most boring games I have ever played. Few games caused me to fall asleep in the middle of them and this one did - three times. Few games caused me to fall asleep in the middle of them and this one did - three times. There is so much grind for achievements that it makes ARPGs look like they are simple. Some of the achievements require you to literally mash the same button over and over again for hours in order to meet the requirements needed for the achievement. Another achievement requires a tremendous amount of time be spent looking for stuff and this leads me to the next big issue with this game - everything is random.

Each world is randomly generated (although some seem to share coordinates which allow ppl to share worlds). So to find the items you need to have to go to world after world and complete quests for generic characters or open chests. Each time you may get a random item, studs or a gold brick. If you are looking for a specific item it can take a long time. Because every single quest is a fetch quest you repeat this loop forever. Unto itself this wouldn't be bad but one of the achievements is to collect everything so you'll spend countless hours just looking for stuff. As you start running out of stuff to obtain it becomes harder to unlock them as everything is random. If you already have the item it randomly decided to generate then it just gives studs or a common item. Whoever thought this was fun during design should be forced to endure this nightmare for the rest of their lives.

Another issue is that ultimately the worlds are the same just with different themes. There are generic people on every world with quests, vehicles fall from the sky, creatures attack at random and there is stuff to break. There is really no reason to go to different worlds other than for finding what you need. This is where the quests get really bad. Often you are just told someone needs something and then you have to figure out what. The pictures are so small (even zoomed in) and look like everything else that you're often guessing what it is. Many items are identical except color. So you might have a red apple but this character needs a green one. Or you might have a black bow but this character requires the other black bow. Since everything is random you then either just skip the quest (most likely) or you spent time looking for the item(s). Look up "pointless quests" in the dictionary and there should be a reference to LEGO Worlds.

Crashing is bad as you explore worlds. Each world takes up more space and eventually the game runs out of available space that it is allowed by the system. At this point you get an infinite loading screen. The only solution is to physically restart your Xbox (yes this is required) and then go into the main menu and delete a world before loading your game. Otherwise you have to do this again. The game also stalls pretty quickly after only a handful of items are on the screen.

Most LEGO games ultimately do the same thing this game does. The problem is they are framed in a story, generally have red bricks to speed up the process and have quests that are designed to be completed in the area. LEGO Worlds violates all these rules and ends up being a slog of a game. I cannot imagine it is worth anyone's time other than as a LEGO sandbox. If you really want to play with LEGOs that bad then go buy the real thing. At least you won't spend hours looking for some arbitrary item.

Most would say that this game is just a big Minecraft clone bur I would say otherwise. The story is not much, all you got to do is just get enough gold bricks to become a master builder and even then that doesn't do anything because all you've done is just collect a bunch of yellow bricks. but the way you get gold bricks is quite interesting basically you have to do a lot of quest for people or chase down troublemakers and the troublemakers rarely ever appear with a gold brick in their hands. so yeah if you want to get a hundred gold bricks you're going to have to do a LOT of grinding. I'd rather stick to sandbox mode because they just give you everything from the get-go. Next I'm going to talk about a game-breaking bug. (keep in mind I'm on Xbox one and this may not happen on all consoles.) this bug consists of a glitch where on the loading screen to where you're going back to the main menu or just going to another world in general it won't load, and then you'll have to quit the game. I have spent so many hours on my worlds and only for this bug to mess it all up, kind of just ruins the magic for me. The conclusion, Lego worlds is a fun game but that fun is quickly ruined by a bug that causes your worlds not to save. Expand

LEGO Worlds is a logical answer to Minecraft. Generally speaking LEGO does well in a virtual playground, as it offers a lot of options to keep you playing. However, technical issues and repetitive gameplay takes the possibility of a good flow out of the game.
