    Kingdom; New Lands is one of the best games of 2016. It's frustrating that this game hasn't picked up more attention. The pixelated art is gorgeous. A game like this shouldn't be more artistically rendered. The music is perfect beautiful atmospheric simplicity. The gameplay is very unique and extremely simple to pick up, but hard to master. This is a difficult game with noKingdom; New Lands is one of the best games of 2016. It's frustrating that this game hasn't picked up more attention. The pixelated art is gorgeous. A game like this shouldn't be more artistically rendered. The music is perfect beautiful atmospheric simplicity. The gameplay is very unique and extremely simple to pick up, but hard to master. This is a difficult game with no checkpoints or save points, but it makes for more rewarding experiences that way in my opinion. I've put in more than 20 hours and i'm still fine tuning and learning how to survive each run through. This game is similar to Dark Souls in the sense that there isn't much of a tutorial but requires you to learn as you play, experimenting and figuring out what so and so does. I for one love a throwback to games with a higher more unforgiving difficulty. However its not too difficult that you will become frustrated. If a mistake is made, you will certainly know what you did and be forced to correct your gameplay. The only reason i don't give a 10 is because it can become repetitive. But for only 15 dollars it's a serious steal and if you consider yourself a video game enthusiast you MUST try out this brilliant game.… Expand

    This game just reminds me of so many of the other great indie games out there like Prison Architect, Escapist, Rimworld, and Epic Manager (I hope the last 2 make it to XB1), that are low on graphics but great on replay and game value. This one seems simple, just get coins, have peasants build stuff, then escape to a new 2d side scrolling area. But how you build determines your followersThis game just reminds me of so many of the other great indie games out there like Prison Architect, Escapist, Rimworld, and Epic Manager (I hope the last 2 make it to XB1), that are low on graphics but great on replay and game value. This one seems simple, just get coins, have peasants build stuff, then escape to a new 2d side scrolling area. But how you build determines your followers ability to defend and expand your lands. So there is a lot of subtle strategy. This is a great game to add to your collection, but I'd recommend it for 9 bucks or less.… Expand

    It really is a gem of a game, hard, rewarding and oddly fun. There's something voyeuristic about being only able to watch your people as they struggle to survive. See them grow as a community, see the archers at work, the builders repair the walls after the Greed come for you. You have very little direct control, yet you have all the power, spending their wealth to keep them safe.

    So I have Xbox game pass which in case you don’t know what that is, its a service that costs $10 a month and you have access to 50+ games? I don’t actually know the amount but some games are taken out of the service and new games are added in. One day I saw that Kingdom New Lands was added so I downloaded it. It took awhile but eventually, I sat down and started to play it.

It took awhile but eventually, I sat down and started to play it.

    I have a confession about this game. It makes me feel stupid. I did not understand what I am supposed to be doing. It’s a side-scroller and I would run back and forth. I would hire people but I don’t really know what I was hiring them to do. I would give money to trees and then next thing I knew the trees were gone but I don’t know why I wanted to do to do that. I spent a couple hours running back and forth doing things but the game never gave me any direction of what my goal was.

    I didn’t get frustrated by the lack of direction but I did lose interest. It didn’t make sense, I could have looked up online but after a couple of hours. I just didn’t care so I uninstalled the game and have no interest in going back to it.    … Expand

    Une petite merde indé simplette et simpliste au principe simplet boulotté par un demeuré ou plutôt par un escroc, car pour oser vendre un truc pareil, il faut soit s'appeler Forrest, soit être un enfoirnaze de première catégorie.

    A stunning pixel art game, with a very interesting mix of mechanics ranging from management to tower defense in a roguelike structure. Unluckily it can get quickly boring too, and when it's not it can deliver some unbearable difficulty spikes.

    If you’re already a strategy fan or enjoy the ever growing breed of roguelikes that seem to be springing up everywhere, you’ll almost certainly enjoy Kingdom: New Lands. On the other hand if you’re new to either then I can’t think of a better place to start.
