Definitely unique. It's more of a DLC than an expansion, but the new Mech challenges grant you some upgraded powers to unlock. It doesn't completely overhaul the game like Sky Fortress, but it contains excellent additions that simply beg you to try them out for the excitement factor alone.

Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault is a fun little add-on for Avalanche Studios’ latest sandbox adventure, but considering the overall lack of content and its relatively steep price point, you might need to be really desperate to get back into Just Cause 3 if you’re using this as your excuse. Still, what is here is enjoyable, and much better balanced than what we saw in Sky Fortress, showing Avalanche Studios is at least moving in the right direction with this post-launch content—and giving me hope for the final chapter in the three-part DLC season pass.

Just Cause 3 Mech Land Assault
    Great new weapon, poor expansion
Mech Land Assault introduces a new land based vehicle to the the game..
    A mech..
This expansion also adds a new island to liberate as well as 2 super lazy feeling missions…
Much like the air dlc the developers couldn’t even bother to create fully animated cut scenes for the whopping 2 missions,
again deciding to just give us drawings.
This mech does add a great deal of fun to the game though… this dlcs only saving grace
Liberating with this mech is a blast.. you can literally shoot or pick up anything and throw it…
Liberating this new island with bullet sponge enemies is actually required to unlock the 2nd and final mission.. so even if you have completed the entire game beforehand, there is still an excuse to hop in this beast for a joy ride…
Liberating this time revolves more around freeing prisoners.. giving them weapons and holding down a base…
but much like the base game, quickly becomes repetitive…
The DLC is also quite broken..
I experienced numerous hard crashes.. one even deleting the dlc completely not allowing me to start just cause 3 up period…
I was stuck on the main start screen waiting for land mech assault to reinstall…
This DLC expansion is broken garbage…
But at least the mech is fun.
I give Just Cause 3 Mech Land Assault a 4/10
