The story starts with a crash landing on Mars and then you are on your own to survive. The world is huge so exploring it requires you to improve yourself ad you receive warnings about a dangers level or strength if you will. Your goal is to build your base in Mars and upgrade it with technology, adding new features, collecting water and growing your own food. You can also upgrade your space suit so you can carry more resources. So this game is about upgrading yourself and your base so you can explore the planet better with upgraded tools. You are given some objectives to build some buildings but then there is no instructions for how to accomplish them. Your character doesn’t run particularly fast so sometimes it is boring to walk. And your JCB vehicles are slow too so in this huge planet wandering around is time consuming. There are decent environmental hazards in this game like meteor showers, toxic pools, sandstorms etc. Generally building, discovering and mining are good but JCB Pioneer: Mars is a good game for slow paced game fans. The game was too slow for my personal pace as an Xbox game but I'm sure fans of the genre or style will feel right at home. I felt like as a player who doesn't. play these type of games often it could have "held my hand" a bit more to help me at least early on. Not terrible, Not great. Average experience for someone who doesn't play the genre on a regular basis.… Expand
