    It Lurks Below is a game I really wanted to like and the foundation that it has is great. But it needs to be optimized for Xbox One better. The gameplay is fun when there aren’t bugs to deal with and, who knows, maybe I’m just unlucky? I just know it could be done better and I hope to see future updates that remedy some of these issues, because I really do think It Lurks Below has a lot of potential to be something amazing.

    If you are a fan of Terraria, yes the game looks similar but you'll love this one even more, it is really not a terraria clone. This game was developped by the genius mind behind Diablo games. If you can overcome the pixel design then it's a game definitely worth getting. Thanks to GamePass I was able to discover this hidden gem. (The game should have had better marketing I don't understand why there isnt much reviews about it..)

Sure it has a lot of the things we've seen before, but games don't have to be new and innovative to be good. The lightweight file size makes it easily accessible, it barely reaches 200 MB. However, I can firmly say that it needs work.
    For one, performance is clunky, and the UI could definitely use some work on consoles. This is a new release though, and I hope the updates improve the game and make it reach it's full, or at the very least, part of it's full potential.    … Expand

David Brevik takes RPG progression and loot then blends it with Terraria like sandbox and hordes of enemies. You'll have to manage your health, hunger, and stamina to survive. Mine for resources and craft better tools and structures. The deeper you go the harder and more plentiful the hordes. The first night I learned there is no real rest until you have built safty, even then, you have to stay on your toes. The first time the sun sets you'll meet the obligatory flying eyeballs, these guys fly arpund spawning in more enemies, that are shorter than your average shots making you have to aim down. The combat does become far more rewarding as you progress along and become more powerful. Later battles are colorful explosions of bright pixels filling the area and enemies pouring out fountains of damage numbers quite satisfyingly. The unfortunate note is It Lurks Below lacks anything that truly makes it memorable. Its not as polished as its predecessors, but does a few things better at the same time. The one thing it truly lacks is multiplayer. It is definitely a game to check out if you enjoy challenging platforming action combat with a creative outlet.… Expand
