I'd like to start with, knowing this game was mostly developed by a single person, The final outcome, even with its glitches and issues, is impressive, to say the least. Caustic Reality has done an amazing job keeping the atmosphere thick, and the player uneasy. The sound effects are on point, and the ambient tones and creepy noises add greatly to the depth. This heavy feeling will follow you as you investigate what happened to make this house so dark. The narrative is superbly assembled from the voiced readings, and memories to the dark scenes in the rooms that tell part of what played out. The house is inhabited by the malicious spirit of Sarah, who will hunt you, and kill you when given the chance. Sometimes this is necessary to progress the story, as each death takes you to another time, or place in the house. The game runs a bit over four hours, barring mistakes, and getting lost from time to time, but is tense every minute of that. Along the way, there are a few jump scares, but the true terror in this game is the atmosphere, and your inability to truly combat the vengeful spirit. Horror fans should enjoy this game as Infliction delivers a constant feeling of dread. Expand

Infliction is nightmarishly scary, but it lacks innovation and relies on some tired and problematic tropes in order to deliver. While it excels in its puzzle design and general atmospheric spookiness, an unsympathetic protagonist and audio problems lead to an overall lacklustre experience.

By the end of the game, it's easy to tell that there was a lot of love put into this game for the overall concept and story alone. Even with all the flaws, it's still a game that I enjoy deep down, but I cannot deny all the annoyances that I had in trying to stay focused on completing it.
