Infinite Guitars is a blast to play, fusing rhythm action moments and RPG elements into something enjoyable. It is not perfect - there are issues with running around, as the perspectives are a little off, and there are a couple of little glitches, but overall this is well worth a play.

Infinite Guitars has so much potential. It is a shame to see its wonderful music, killer art style, potentially intriguing story, and promising combat system ruined by questionable design choices.

It has an interesting take on turn based combat that i found fairly enjoyable, kind of like Earthbound but your attacks are performed during little guitar hero style rhythm games.

I almost wish it was a straight up rhythm game though, unfortunately there are sections outside of combat where you have to avoid map hazards and these sections get old fast. your character is so slow and clunky and they will snag on every single edge they possibly can. Also the game absolutely loves making you backtrack so get used to those map hazards.

Still would recommend giving it a go. It throws at lot of stuff at the wall and some of it sticks better than others, but it has some neat ideas that make it worth a look.
