Indiecalypse is a Cross-Genre collection of Mini-Games wrapped around a satirical Story. You start the game as Jack, one of the three main characters in the story, and play through his rise to Indie Game creator. You navigate the story switching between the "Reality" of the story and the Mini-Games. You start the game as Jack, one of the three main characters in the story, and play through his rise to Indie Game creator. You navigate the story switching between the "Reality" of the story and the Mini-Games. The "Reality" part of the game is lost between a walking simulator and a Point-and-Click. The Mini-Games are all knock offs of different game titles and range anywhere between Guitar Hero and the Binding of Issac. This constant shift between genres keeps you on your toes, and I never knew what I was to expect next. The story is seriously dark, and the humor crept though a few shadows itself. There is a lot of crude and vulgar language, but it's all well placed, adding to the atmosphere of the game. If you can't take a few dark jokes or violence for humor, then you may want to stray from this title. If you enjoy the occasional cringe-worthy pun and constant pop culture references you can find a lot of that here too. Indiecalypse is definitely an experience, keeping a smile on my face the whole way along. This game will be enjoyed by those looking for a wild ride through videogame genres, who enjoy quite a bit of dark humor. Expand

Indiecalypse on Xbox One tries many things, but for the most part it fails. Throughout my time with it it has regularly required restarts to fix its minigames, its humour is grating and fails to show any depth, and it only really takes a couple of hours or so to finish.
